Question about TDV Vison F173 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Monitor turns off and on

When you turn on the power to my Vison 17in flat panel the green light simply blinks off and on and the screen comes on then off at about 1 sec intervals. You can actually see windows booting on the screen one second at a time. After about 15 or 20 minutes it will come on and work for as long as you leave the computer turned on. If you reboot it comes right back on. If you let it stay off for a couple of hours and then try to start it back it starts the on / off problem again. Is this a power inverter board problem or simply a bad on/off switch?

Broksonic Flat Panel TV, tried to turn back on TV and Green LED light is blinking and screen pops up a few sec with white and colored lines and the turns off

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Sharp Aquos TV doesn't work, power light is blinking at 1 blink/sec

Sounds like a fault code, ~I have found some info on it:-

The frequency and color of the blinks will indicate the issue. There is a hold-down button sequence to try to backdoor your way into the set to see if the panel will light. You may have simply racked up too many "weird tuner faults" and need to reset it. My suspicion is that it's either that or bad panel backlight.

Unplug set, press and hold (on set) volume-down and channel-down and hold them while pluging in set. Will come on with "k" on screen, or will crash again if backlight bad. If it stays on, use your remote and arrow right then look for "fact init" and any other reset and turn them on. Arrow back up to "fact init" and hit enter. Let set recycle to green and unplug/re-plug in 5 seconds: the set should be in OOB state.

hope it helps

If you have not tried it you may want to see if the voltages listed come up with boards disconnected from the power supply one at a time---This could be anywhere from micro to the panel.

Well my mom was watching tv and it just shut off so then my mom turned it back on thinking she might have hit the power button accidentally. But when she turns it on it started blinking the green light for...

The flashing light red power light should only stay while the fan cool down for about 1 minute after a power off (remember to always wait before unplugging the TV so the lamp can cool down with the fan). Does that flashing start right away after plugging back the TV after an hour of letting it without AC power.

The red light should flash no longer than 10 sec. This prepare the light to be turned on. If all is OK the green should stay (no longer flashing) and the sound and picture come on.

As for the lamp flashing, i bet it's only 1 time each 5 sec? Or do it group many rapid flash each 5 sec?

Things that can be wrong:
-the fan lamp

-the lamp is not proprely inserted (wait an hour before manipulating it to be sure it cooled down, and use glove to not put body oil on it).

-Lamps is defective and is not operating properly so you can't get to the usual on screen message that recommend to change the lamp.

My flat screen wont power on

The monitor should be plugged directly into a wall socket. It has a universal power supply in the monitor that automatically compensates for either 110VAC/ 60Hz or 220VAC 50Hz.
There are a limited number of compatible video resolutions (from the PC's video card) that are supported. The best setting will be 1280 x 1024.

I had the same problem before. I open my set to find out the faulty component are at power supply main board.
I change the electrlytic capacitor 680microfarad and a resistor burnt near the FET.
You can visual check first.Color changes and bulky form on cap and burnt resistor easily.
Have a try.

Any high switching power supply of the same voltage and amperage rating will work for you. You may have to cut the end off of your old one and wire it to the new one to make it work but don't waste your money buying a specific power supply.
Good Luck!
