Washer wont agitate or spin

Mod # PAVT910AWW Washer has been very off balance lately. Replaced the belt. Washed one load and perfect. Washed another and spin cycle didn't remove all water. Loaded another thinking maybe would work properly again and heard a really loud popping..clunky noise and then nothing!. Now it will not spin or agitate at all. I hear the motor running still. What steps to take next. Please help I have a load of clothes with bleach sitting in it!!!Thank you Shelly

Thanks you for the reply..but before I called the supply parts company I checked one last thing. I held the lid open and started the spin cycle with a screw driver. The spin cycle works fine with a heavy load of jeans. If I have light items and it gets off balance the washer starts walking then I know it wont spin all water out.So..I think the spin cycle is good it just wont agitate. So does this mean my transmission is good still? Do I just need a new agitator part? Thank you Shelly

Sounds like your transmission is going bad. usually they will pop the belt when going out. Probably with a service call and the cost of the transmission, you'd do better heading to sears. Sorry to bear the bad news. Good luck.

Flse72gcsa won't agitate or spin

There are a few potential causes for a Frigidaire FLSE72GCSA washing machine not agitating or spinning. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the washer's load balance. If the load is unbalanced, it can cause the washer to stop agitating or spinning. Try redistributing the load evenly and see if that resolves the issue.
  2. Check the drive belt. The drive belt connects the motor to the agitator and the basket. If the drive belt is worn or damaged, it can cause the washer to stop agitating or spinning.
  3. Check the motor. If the motor is not functioning properly, it can cause the washer to stop agitating or spinning.
  4. Check the lid switch. The lid switch ensures that the washer lid is closed before allowing the washer to agitate or spin. If the switch is faulty, it can cause the washer to stop agitating or spinning.
If none of these troubleshooting steps resolves the issue, you may want to consider contacting a professional appliance repair service. They will be able to diagnose the problem more accurately and recommend a solution

I washed a load of clothes and the washer worked perfectly until the last 3 minutes where the washer does the final spin and all of sudden smoke pours out of the back of the washer and when I opened the...

well is it a smell of burning rubber? maybe the belt that turns the drum has got jammed. over time these belts get loose and when a full load of clothes are washed the belt slips creating heat hence the smoke..hope this helps..

Replaced the belt and still not agitating, switch seems good

If the machine fills, won't agitate, wont drain or spin, then you need to replace the lid switch.
if machines fills, wont agitate, will drain but not spin, then you need to replace the motor coupling

I accidently washed a large load of laundry without switching from previous small load selection; now washer has burning smell and wont work??

probably broke the motor coupling, it's made of rubber and plastic, when machine is out of balance it breaks, if you turn it on agitate or spin and you can hear the motor running but nothing spinning then it has broken, part cost about 20 bucks Try Repairclinic.com

Washing machine GLWS1649ASO wont spin on spin cycle. motor and pulley turn, but belt doesn't move. Is it the belt?

no it will not be the belt more so it will be a bad transmission.or something stuck under the agitator i have seen drill bits and keys get stuck under the agitator and cause the transmission to stop
remover the agitator first and check it is there is nothing there the transmission needs to be replaced

Will not spin or agitate

Get the model number. It may have an off balance switch that is stuck. Try moving agitator like its off balance and then turn on.

Washer will not spin

I fixed it yesterday. After checking the continuity of my lid switch and pressure switch and finding them ok I removed the tubing from the pressure switch and applied air (blew into it). There was a clog and blowing on it removed it for now. Apparently the pressure switch was telling the machine that the tub was full of water and wouldn't let it start the spin cycle. I ran three loads last night and it worked perfect. I may have to remove the connection on the side of the tub and clean it properly if it clogs again.

Washer problems

if it wont drain , check your lid switch, check out your motor coupler, if it will not agitate and spin, replace your motor coupler, if it agitates and dont spin, replace your lid switch.

alot of times the washer will drain but we hurriedly cut it off when we hear noise or the water is out but it never spinned and so the clothes are soapy wet...
