The Ericcson T29 is a older model. There are several itmes which pop up into my mind :
1) Did you insert a SIM-card ? If you don't insert a SIM-card, the phone doesn't know to which provider-network it should connect. 2) Does your phone get acces to the frequency your provider is active ? Your mobile phone is more or less like a walky-talky, operating at a certain frequency. For GSM it can be 850, 900, 1800 or even 1900 MHz. Lets assume, your provider operates at 1900 MHz, but your phone can only be active in the 850MHz-range, you got a communicationproblem. The phone can't connect to the provider. I think this might be the case with your mobile phone, because the T29 is quite some years old.
REMOVE LOCKING TAB, UNBOLT NYLON LOCK NUT...DISCARD! PROP SHOULD SLIDE OFF OUTPUT SHAFT...IF NOT PROP IS FROZEN. IF IT A THRU HUB PROP, AND HAS A RUBBER SHOCK ABSORBING DEVICE...YOU CAN'T REALLY HEAT IT..YOU DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT TO BANG ON THE PROP(SHAFT AND BEARING DAMAGE) SOMETIMES THE PROP HAS TO BE CUT OFF...REQUIRING A NEW PROP! TIP: IF THIS IS THE CASE:*** ALWAYS COAT PROP SHAFT WITH ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND WHEN INSTALL A PROP!!!!!
One option would be to replace the motherboard. You can use one from T40 -T43 with your monitor. I bought one on Ebay for $90 which came with the board installed to the bottom plastic tray. I only had to install my monitor, memory, keyboard, hard drive, & plastic bezel and I had a good working unit for $90.
check the horizontal output transistor for short. if so then check main regulator ICs for short and white .1ohm resistor for open. also check horizontal transformer for cracked solder as this is the cause for failure
