When my first son outgrew the 5 pt harness and only needed the lap/shoulder belt with this carseat we took out the straps.  Lord knows where they went. Now my second son is ready for this seat but I need to get replacement straps.

My manuel has an order form to send in to Dorel Juvenile Group Inc. There website is www.djgusa.com , you might be able to find it on there.

You can purchase replacement chest clips at Babies R Us. The clips are pretty standard for most types of car seat harnesses.

I want to buy a Quincy zapp in parts wat parts do I need

Hi

It is not possible to purchase a Quinny Zapp by building it from spare parts that are available from Dorel.

The chassis is not considered a spare part item so this is not available to purchase.

In addition to the chassis you would need wheels, seat fabric, sun canopy and harness pads. In addition you may wish to order shopping basket, raincover, parasol clip, parasol, footmuff and adaptors to use the chassis with Maxi Cosi carseat.

How to take apart

It would be recommended that you contact the manufacturer of the carseat in order to ask for their advice on the best way of doing this as all seats are different.

If it is a Maxi Cosi carseat you will find a replacement User Manual on the website www.maxi-cosi.com (select your country then choose your carseat and an option to view or download a User Manual will show) You should never remove the carseat harness due to the safety implications of it being incorrectly fitted.

Where can I buy a new shell and newborn headhugger for a maxi-cosi cabriofix?

Hi Claire - When we say the 'shell' of a carseat we mean the black plastic carseat itself, without polystyrene or fabrics: This is not available as a spare part item to purchase.
The newborn headhugger is not available as a seperate spare part item. It comes as part of a complete replacement fabric set which is RRP 60GBP and can be ordered via your local Maxi Cosi retailer or direct from the customer service department on 01284 413 141 Mon-Fri 8.30-4.30. If purchased direct there is p+p charge of 3.99GBP additional.

Broke the plastic button which release's the straps on my cosi maxi can i buy another one - dont want to buy a new car seat??

Good Evening

The red button is not something available as a spare part that can be sent out for customers to replace themselves due to the safety implications of it being incorrectly fitted; to replace this button the carseat needs a new harness, which must be fitted by our engineers. If your carseat is under 2 years old this is still covered by the warranty, please return the carseat to your retailer with your proof of purchase and they will make arrangements for it to be sent to our engineers for full inspection and any repair work required (in this instance, a replacement harness will be fitted). After full safety checks the carseat will be sent back. Alternatively if the carseat is over 2 years old or you do not have your proof of purchase please contact our customer service department on 01284 413141 (Mon - Fri, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm) and the standard charge for repair is £50 which includes courier delivery of the carseat back to your address; in addition to this you would need to make arrangements and cover costs for the carseat to be sent to the engineers. Hope this helps! Thanks :)

How do u release seat from base

Good Evening

At the front of the base unit (nearest to the edge of the vehicle seat) there is a large grey release clip. Pull this clip forward (toward the front of the vehicle) and lift the carseat away from the base. Ensure that you lift the carseat completely away before letting go of the release clip as otherwise it may not release fully and the carseat will still be partly attached.

Replacement hood

Generally replacement parts for carseats can only be ordered from the manufacturer due to safety reasons. Contact the manufacturer or look in your owner's manual for information on ordering replacement parts.

How do you wash an infant carseat

first you will need to remove the liner of the carseat, you will have to carefully remove the small harnesses from the fabric but as you do so label the back with a sharpie or draw a diagram so you know how to get it back on!
wash the fabric on COLD only and dry on very LOW heat to prevent SHRINKING because it will be hard to put it back on if it shrinks!
wipe the seat with a dishcloth of soap and water, do not use harsh chemicals on the carseat itself as even if you let it air dry the chemical smell or any residue could make your child sick.

Rear Facing Installation

That is the common installation process for a convertible carseat in rear-facing position. It is important that the shoulder/lap seatbelt be as tight as possible. This can best be achieved by putting as much of your own weight as possible on the carseat (without the baby of course), clicking into the seatbelt fastener and then pulling as much slack as possible out of the seatbelt strap. If you have the assistance of another adult, one should provide the weight on the carseat from inside the vehicle while the other pulls on the seatbelt strap from outside to remove as much slack as possible. If you have an I-shaped locking bracket, it should be installed over both straps 1 inch from the seatbelt fastener.

Some, but not all, manufacturers provide a metal locking bracket to be placed on the seat belt after the carseat is installed to prevent excessive slippage. You could contact your manufacturer to see if one should have been provided or you may purchase one at most major baby product retailers.

Be aware, a little movement of the installed carseat is considered normal and acceptable.

One last note, many fire stations, police stations, children's hospitals and even car dealerships offer free carseat safety checks. Call those in your area and ask if they offer this service.
