Try this if that helps:

Using iPhoto to create borderless prints To use iPhoto to create borderless prints, please follow all of the steps below:

  1. While logged in as an Administrator, install the latest Canon printer drivers onto your computer (with Mac OS X v10.2 or later as the operating system) and select the appropriate printer as the default.

  2. Launch iPhoto.

  3. From iPhoto, select and open the image you wish to print. (Please refer to the Apple web site for instructions on how to use iPhoto.)

  4. When you are ready to make a print, select from the Menu Bar 'File: Page Setup'.

  5. The Page Setup dialog will appear.

  6. Select the following settings:

    1. Settings: Page Attribute
    2. Format for: <Select the Canon printer you wish to use>
    3. Paper Size: 4x6 (borderless)
    4. Orientation: <Select the matching orientation>
    5. Scale: <Select the appropriate scale>

  7. Select 'OK' and the Page Setup dialog will close.

  8. From iPhoto, from within the Constrain section of the browser window, select from the pull-down menu (i.e., the button directly above the Constrain label) either '4x6' or '4x6 Portrait'. Then, using your mouse cursor, mouse-over the image and when the Cross-Hairs are over the upper left-hand corner of the portion of the image you wish to print, click and drag from the left to the right in a downwardly diagonal motion, releasing the click at the end of the image selection.

  9. Click the 'Crop' button.

  10. From the Menu Bar, select 'File: Print', select your options, then select 'Print'.

  11. This selection, revealed in the iPhoto window will now print as a borderless, 4x6 print.

I am getting paper jam error message after I try to print on photo paper

Some printers detect the type of paper you are using, and print accordingly. Do you have photo cartridges installed? If not, that will trigger an error message. Try putting a smaller amount of sheets in the paper feed- that can sometimes trigger an error message, I've read in reviews. Double check the printer to make sure there, indeed, isn't a paper jam. The type of paper one uses with certain printers can be an issue, so google your printer make and model number and then type something like suggested paper type, or things similar, and you will get some sites that discuss problems with different printers and paper types, and also suggestions of which paper will work well with which printer.
I couldn't find any specific information since I didn't have a make and model number, but hope this general information helps.
Good luck, and thanks for using FixYa.

A 22 cm long piece of foam has come out with my print job on my MP500 Canon Pixma Printer. It continues to operate Ok. Can I replace it myself or will I have to spend a lot getting a service. Any self help...

No need for manuals and such, the foam goes in the track under where the carriage travels. It is only there to catch any overspray when you make a borderless print. Your printer will work fine without it, but you can just lay it back in the track, it's not glued or fastened. You should look inside to make sure the other end pieces aren't sticking up to catch on the printhead.

Ricoh Aficio CL1000n Print quality very low.... not sure why. Trying to print color and it comes out very stripe-y. I used to use a Ricoh at my former office and it worked great. Everything I've read about...

the post scrip option is option but your printer might nit have installed this option .
But about the print quality you should call service to fix it here is nothing you can do

You will probably only get true borderless prints directly from the camera. I always get 1/4" at both ends when printing from the computer.

MP600 with Mac OS X - no borderless printing option?

I had the same question. I found the answer at Canon's site but I can't link directly to the page so here's how I found the solution...
1. Go to the Canon Support site. 2. In the "Please enter your question field" type: How do I Print edge to edge? 3. Hit the "Search" button. 4. Click the #1 (top) search result "How do I Print edge to edge?" 5. Click the #1 (top) solution: "Use Borderless Printing (Mac OS X) MP600 6. Follow the directions.
It seems the main thing you need to do is go to the "Page Setup" dialog. Then make sure you've chosen the MP600 in the "Format for:" popup menu. Finally, in the "Paper Size:" popup, select "A4" then "A4 (borderless). It's a hierarchical menu.
FWIW I still haven't gotten a "perfect" borderless print. Seems you gotta get the paper in there exactly straight...

Heads off photos

It is the borderless setting that does this, cause in actual fact, all borderless does is strectch your image.

If you remove the borderless setting, you will get the heads back

Unfortunately there is no way around this. Just keep this in mine when taking your next photo's.
