Probably not, but your insurance should pay if you have a renter or homeowner policy.

As crcelect suggests you can run the TV on RCA. You should also be able to use coax directly from your cable box. If you don't have cable you can use an rf converter to connect coax.
I have exactly the same problem with my Panasonic TH-42PX75U. I've been told that I may need to run a setup on my cable box to fix the problem. If I find a solution I'll provide details in a future post.

Yes, you have power supply issue.
the power on circuit is malfunctioning and the flashes is the indication that the voltage levels for the power on regulation is not correct therefore shut down to protect the circuit from further damage. You TV unit needs servicing by an plasma TV specialist.
Also check to see if you do not have the TV in sleep or hibernation mode.

The way to solve the problem with the TH-50PZ80U blinking light problem is to not buy Panasonic Products. I have had my TV about 21 months and it has started with the blinking light problem, just out of warranty. Panasonic is aware of this problem and refuses to do recall or fix the tv unless you are within the warranty or have bought the extended warranty. Legally they are within their rights, but I am also within my rights to air my complaint and inform others of this below par product. Who wants a TV that they have to unplug for a while and pug it in again for it to work. I want to push the power button and it come's on. I will never purchase another PANASONIC PRODUCT.
