Get my mute button to work

You must take apart the two halves of the remote .
Remove the rubber buttons bad (It usually is one piece)

Get a bottle of 99% iso alcohol at any pharmacy and let the whole rubber pad soak for 2 mins.

While it is soaking, take the end of a rubber pencil, and use it to clean the pc board by rubbing in circles on the printed resistor ink pads individually.

Remove the rubber button pad from the alcohol and dry well.

Take the pencil eraser and rub each individual black resistor ink with it.
Then dip a Q tip in the alcohol and do ALL of the resistor ink on both the pc board and the rubber pad.

Re assemble and there you have it!

Usually when you open the remote and pull the rubber all in one button key pad out, it will be sticky, so clean the button holes on the top piece of the remote (The Insides Individually) or the problem will continue.
The rubber keys will eventually return to rubber and the small black resistor ink on the opposite side will also wear in time.

I have seen this in the shop now for almost 30 years, and it is 95% the same every time!

I hope this will help!

How do I put ink in for IDEAL300?

  • Push stamp down slightly and push buttons on side to lock into position (Image 1).
  • Push button and then pull out ink pad (Image 2). For other style Trodats, just push the ink pad (there will not be a button).
  • Put 10 - 20 drops of Ideal Ink on the inked side of the pad.
  • Once the ink has absorbed into the pad, push the pad back in (Image 3).

How to replace ink waste absorber

  • Open the printer as though you were going to install new ink cartridges, letting the cartridge cradle move to the center of the printing unit. Unplug the printer so that the cartridges will remain in their position.

  • Locate the waste ink absorbers in their black rubber frame. They will likely be on the right side of your printer, and will be located underneath the area where the ink cartridges rest when the printer is in standby mode.

  • Use a paper napkin or other disposable and absorbent material to soak up any excess ink that may be in the pads by pressing it down onto the top of the frame.

  • Pull the rubber frame free from the printer, wearing gloves to keep your hands clean. Carefully remove the ink absorber pad or pads from the rubber frame.

  • Insert new ink absorber pads firmly into the rubber frame. Replace the rubber frame in its original position and close the printer.

  • Hold down the power button, then plug the printer back in. Continue holding the power button down until the printer begins to reset itself and come online.

  • Wait for the green power light to turn off, then press and release the power button again. It should blink for two to three seconds, then stay lit; this will indicate that the printer has been reset and is ready to print again without errors.

New HP 56 cartridge prints green

hello, are you sure its green, since this is a black in cart, only thing i can think of is machine not printing black , and the color ink cartridge is contaminated, this would be due to the docking area for the cartridge, on the left side of machine, there are 2 black rubber cups that the ink cartridges move over to seal. sometimes these cups have residual ink, which will contaminate the new inks. clean these black cups, and replace inks

Phantom paper jam it justdoes not print i put new ink etc..

The FINE Cartridge may not be installed properly, or the Cartridge may not be the compatible with this machine. Install the appropriate FINE Cartridge. If lines are misaligned or the resulting output is not satisfactory, carry out the FINE Cartridge Alignment.

This is a common problem with compatible cartridges where the chip on the cartridge is faulty, missing or is not making contact correctly with the printer cartridge connectors. The first thing to do is make sure that the plastic seal has been removed from the chip and that it is free of any residual adhesive etc. You can clean this with a cotton bud soaked in isopropyl alcohol or VCR tape head cleaner. DO NOT USE SURGICAL SPIRIT or any other cleanser as this will either leave a residue itself or damage the plastics and rubbers in the printer.

Once cleaned reinsert the cartridge and try again. If this is still unsuccessful the best solution is to return the cartridges to the vendor where you bought them and get another brand of cartridges or use genuine original cartridges. When you find a reliable manufacturer of cartridges, stay with them. Don’t forget to clean the print head and realign & recalibrate the printer at every cartridge change for optimum results. Also make sure that you use high quality paper for the best images results.

Removing & Cleaning the Absorbent pads.

The printer has 2 ink absorber pads that are located under the ink cartridges.

    1. With power off the head assembly / cartridges can be moved into the middle for access.
    2. Each of the 2 ink absorber pads are seated in a rubber retainer. The pads can be easily removed cleaned or replaced.
    3. Carefully remove the pads using long nose pliers or tweezers.
    4. Clean the using with running warm water, or use an isopropyl alcohol bath, or an isopropyl alcohol based aerosol if they are really dirty. DO NOT USE ANY SURGICAL SPIRIT OR ANY OIL BASED CLEANERS. At a push you can use a warm water mild washing up liquid bath but be sure to thoroughly rinse out the solution after cleaning. The pads should be white when they are clean.
    5. Dry the pads – it may take some time and placing them in a warm environment or near a warm radiator will speed this up.
    6. Clean away any ink on the retaining rubbers using a cotton bud or clean and soft lint free cloth.
    7. Replace the DRY pads in the rubber retainers.
    8. Replace the Ink cartridges.
    9. Power on the printer and print a test page and clean and realign the heads as required.

    2 Missing ink black streaks

Check the dev unit for missing lines. Also clean the laser glass with the supplied cleaner pad - though if the problem were caused by toner on the lens, there would be gaps in ALL colours.

Check the dev units first. You can also do a stop test whilst a full colour test image is half way through printing and see if the lines are missing off the image on the PCU as well.
