My Gateway model #AR-230 tray would not open after several years of use. Removed the black sheet metal cover from the player to access the tray mounting screws in the black plastic tray frame. By tightening or loosening the little screws on both sides of the front of the tray mechanism, I got the tray to slide out (open) reliably again. The problem is the very close tolerance of the internal tray mechanism with the front case opening causes a mechanical hangup or interference. chemicalladdie
My Cyberhome DVD 300 usede to work fine. I rarely used it since I bought it a Wal-Mart less than six months ago. Lost my manual and codes so I don't know how to solve this problem. A red light is showing with a DVD stuck inside the player. Any ideas??
Unplug for 2 hours. otherwise timing is off and timing needs to be adjusted or rubber replaced..usually Pro shop or open it up and look aroound , possibly a belt came off ??
I contacted Gateway and found out that the AR-230 will not work with anything more than 4x DVD's. Usually it will format DVD-RW's. Usually any cheep brand will work.
You have the wrong firmware,or cd is corrupted. These Liteon recorders have had some issues with the timers. The 5005xa can actually be transformed into the Ilo R04.Look on internet the Wizard has free firmware for your unit, look for iLO R04 which is almost identical to your unit.
If the remote is broke they are easy to replace ,if the recorder is a 5005xa the remote is a clone to ones used in the iLO RO4,used ones can be bought on Ebay for $10 to $20.If it is 5005XSA use the Liteon Rm 51 remote. The Gateway AR 230 recorder and some of the Akai remotes are clones to the Liteon5005XSA remotes.
