IBM laptops are supported by Lenovo www.lenovo.com.
I assume by IBM 2684 you actually mean IBM Thinkpad R40e. 2684 is one of the two types of that model. There are many further sub-models.
As you did not mention which Operating System you require drivers for, here is the download page for that model:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-46024
I assume by LAN you mean the Ethernet port, not wireless. Please click on Networking: Ethernet to find the driver appropriate for your OS. Remember yours is the R40e.
In fact, there is only one driver for the R40e, covering Windows XP. Here is the direct link:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-50161
I hope this solves your issue.
The same model ThinkPad
can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you
know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download all
the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver.
When you download the
drivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a record
of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are
located on your hard drive.
Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB
site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device
drivers for your model computer, Use this link: -
You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).
