My MagiMix food processor is running but there is not much power and the spindle is turning very slowly. Does anyone have any repair suggestions?

It could be two things.

The carbon brushes to the motor need replacing.
or
The motor capacitor is failing.

If your motor is running Slow or just Humming and not going round, it could be the capacitor, this can be caused by running in a damp atmosphere or continuous use ie commercial.

KitchenAid KFPM770 motor runs 3 seconds and stops

Determine first if it really is the motor. Does it only cut out if loaded or will it happen without any load? Remove all bowls and blades, plug it in and turn the power on and press the on button. With something plastic press the small white button that is in the middle above the switch panel and normally hidden by the bowl. This is the safety cutout switch avtivated by the bowl, lid and pusher being in position. Does the motor run while the button is depressed or does it again cut out after a short time but with button still depressed. If it doesn't cut out it's likely that wear in the complicated mechanisms in the lid and bowl handle are releasing the cutout switch with small vibrations of motor running. I figure out which one to replace by swapping out one of the 2 parts for a new one as I try to carry both parts in stock for that purpose.

I have a Kitchen aid food Processor no longer under warranty. I checked all the troubleshooting suggestions in the manual and all appears as it should. but when pressing the button nothing happens, w

Remove everything and have just the bare motor, plug it in and press the run/go button while at the same time depressing the safety microswitch activator at the front, just above the buttons where it would be hidden by the bowl if the bowl was on. If it runs then you have a lid or a bowl problem, if it doesn't run you have an inside the motor housing problem. Lid problems are more common than bowl problems but there is no guarantee yours will be the most common.

My kitchenaid food processor won't work

Does the actuator push down far enough to catch the button at the bottom? I repaired one simply by adding a vinyl screw cover to the top of the button so it was tall enough to be reached by the actuator.

I have purchased a kenwood FP270 food

not sure if this helps, but we bought the same FP270 11 months ago & use it 3-4 times a week with juicing attachment with carrots & apples. Last week the motor started to smell, and motor burnt out completely today with dust & noxious smoke coming out of the bottom. The Good Guys exchanged it for FPM270 with no hassles under warranty. I don't think the motor is powerful enough for serious kitchen work & had many cracks in the plastic parts.

Dead motor in Magimix Cuisine 5100

Remove and check if there is any fault of a brush contact or switch contact or if the load trip switch had reset.
If the power is coming to the motor and is not running you need to confirm fully if the windings are open , if so replace motor.
if not remove and reset the setting of the brush/commutator.

Why won't the food processor start

Hello :

If the cord is OK , then it seems that the motor armature is burn .
If you can fix it by yourdelf , then dissemble the unit, remove the motor. Loosen the bolts running from end to end of the motor and with emery cloth, clean the small metal plates on the ehd of the armature. They should be bright copper color. If the armature is burnt, they will be dull brown. The other thing is to replace the brushes in the motor . Or take it to a repair shop if you are not sure that you can fix it by yourself .

good luck .

KitchenAid Food Processor 770 won't run

I am assuming the unit is getting power. The "power" LED should be lit up on the front of the unit.

The Kitchenaid food processors have a few safety features implimented. If the unit is not assembled properly, this may prevent the unit from turning on. Proper assembly is below:

If it isn't all ready, please disassemble the entire unit. This means removing the blade and/or disc, blade, removing work bowl, work bowl lid, and blade.

Start by placing the work bowl onto the motor base. The work bowl handle should be facing at 9 o'clock, which is out to your left. Rotate the handle downward until it locks in at the 6 o'clock position, which will lock over the center of the button panel.

Repeat the process with the work bowl lid. The blade does not need to be present for the motor to engage, if this is an assembly issue.

If this has not resolve the issue, please ensure the outlet is receiving power.

If the unit is still not functioning, take a close look at the bottom of the work bowl where it meets to the motor base. The work bowl, when locked in, depressed a gray plastic peg. This is the safety mechanism. You may trying depressing this peg on your own with a pencil. If this activates the motor, this may indicate your work bowl is no longer seating correctly.

Also check the work bowl handle to make sure nothing is cracked. There is a plastic assembly in the handle that acts as a second safety feature.

If either of these things seems to be the culprit, I would suggest seeking a new work bowl or work bowl lid to correct the issue.
