Could be, keep it in a warm room for a few hours (6), these things don't like condensation. Then try again. If still no go, then it could be another drive problem, try it on another PC. If still no go, It may have had it.

Find a computer that can fit your disk, and copy the files from the disk onto a CD-recordable disk.
Then, put the newly-recorded CD into your iMac's CD-drive.

Did you try updating the firmware? www.danedigital.com has the latest firmware. I have a SO Smart, no problems at all playing XVID files. I have it upgraded to the latest firmware 1.0.4.
