Question about Fuji FinePix A500 Digital Camera

Internal memory problem

I went out last night and took some pictures, after about 20 pictures my camera told me that my card was full. i had around 800 pictures on my camera already and when i went to delete some so that the memory card wasent full, i could only see about 7 or 8 pictures i had taken later in the night. this morning i went to upload my pics onto the laptop and used my usb cable to do so, in doing this, the 7 or 8 pics flashed up. i took this out and put my memory card in, the 800+ pics came up but not the 7 or 8 pics. i left it a while. when i tried to upload them again, i couldnt find the 7 or 8 pics, so now all i have is the 800+ ones. is there anyway the 7 or 8 pics could have got removed when i went to view them? i really would like to see those pics so if anyone can help me id really apprechiate that. thank you.

Sounds odd - working one day then NOT the next day.
When you downloaded the pictures - did you delete the originals from the card ? (card could be full) depending how many pictures you took.
Did the card have a lock button (sliding button on one side) - this could have been activated.
Does the card need re-formatting by the camera - maybe the PC removes the pictures and changes the format on the card.
Can you borrow/try another card from a friend/shop to insert and see what message comes back !!
That's about all I can think of -- hope that helps - Rays

I hope you didn't format the card because that erases the pics forever. You could get a separate card reader and try to download them that way. You could take the card to a store like Walmart and plug the card into one of their picture making machines. When your pics show up, you can print them or even make a cd of them.

This is a special problem and I would direct you to contact fujifilmusa.com directly about this problem with the memory card.

I'm not sure how to retrieve all of the photos that are missing that you took beyond the 60 photos that showed up.

Did you format the card in the camera before you tried to use it? Also, go into the menu and scroll to "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you do a google search, there are programs that are offered to recover your photos. The free Recovery programs didn't help me at all. The paid programs charge a standard fee whether they recover them or not and without a guarantee. So, you are out of money AND pictures.

The same thing happened to my sister last May after she had taken 197 graduation pictures of her daughter. she was hysterical!
She took it in to a digital camera store and paid for their services. When she went in, they said that the SD card was corrupt and they could only recover thumbnails that you couldn't print or actually do anything with.
I told her to send it to me. I bought a program and recovered every picture but about 20.
If you find that you are unable to recover them from free programs, I will work on it for you. If you would like to get ahold of me, my email is [email protected]

I hope you can get them back!!!

You problem set your camera to use internal memory only. Set the memory function to memory card only and all pictures will go to the memory card until it is full. You can probably still transfer your pic files from internal memory to your card.

Using Internal Memory...now says memory full, no image!

I own the same camera, Not sure about no pictures showing in the memory but you can get a 2 gig memory card for around $20 in stores or around $15 or $16 on ebay, holds over 700 pictures at the highest resolution. Also try to download your pictures to your computer if you haven't already. Hope this helps.
