This is a matter of preference and can differ from country/culture to country.
Traditionally (in English speaking countries), et al., the New Moon is exactly one half of the Lunar Cycle. That is to say around 14(+) days.
Normally one talks about the percentage of illumination, waxing (as the light "grows" across the face of the Moon, towards the Full Moon) or waning (as the light recedes in the direction of the New Moon).
It is praxis that the Moon's Cycle is divided into 4 phases of around 7 days each. Ergo: 7 days Waxing, 7 days Waning.
The number of days counted from the New Moon is called "The Moon's Age" and is counted upwards, "as an age".
The Moon and it's orbit is an entire science but I hope I have answered your question.
It is lock Inside the differential cover thake out the bolts cover and you will see a halfe a moon washer thake it out by removing the gears lock pin good luck
usually if the magnet in the sensor comes out it destroys the cam position shaft,(it should have a half moon shape when u remove the sensor from the cam pos/oil pump drive. if the half moon is damaged or missing u must replace the cam pos/oil pump drive, and yes it is timed with the engine. wot i have done is try to locate where the half moon was on the drive it usually leave a trace of where it was. now index where the half moon is at remove hold down bolt and remove the driver assy. install the new drive, clock the half moon shaft to match the one u just removed once u get the half moon shaft where u want it and the oil pump rod alines and the whole housing is down install the hold down clamp. now to get rid if that check engine lite youll have to plug a scanner in and look at the live data adjust the cam position till u have plus or minus 2 degrees
Their is a half moon shaped keeper in a groove in the shaft and pulley. That must have came out and also the jamb bolt in the end is either missing or not tight.
