Trouble programming Universal Remote to a DTV Converter Box...

Not a complete solution, but, around the last page (pg. 14) of your converter box manual there are codes listed for universal remotes. I happen to have a Philips remote that is listed. My code to control my dtv box is 0354. It appears that they have all codes listed for all Radioshack model universal remotes. I would suggest getting a Radioshack remote for Your "Digital Stream" (Radioshack) dtv box...

The code for the ge universal remote is 1751...but you have to push setup/shift then the menu button. you have to push it each time you want to use the menu..but it does work with the digitalstream converter box..I hope this works

Programming procedure for GE Universal Remote to Digital Stream converter box is as follows:
1. Turn on converter box either manually or otherwise.
2. Press SETUP button until light comes/stays on.
3. Press and release CBL/SAT button.
4. Press 1751 in that order on your keypad.
5. Press ON/OFF button.
6. Press ENTER button.
Note: This particular code was originally designed for GE Universal Remote 24938 but will work with the 24912 model also except the MENU selection. I could not get that feature to work, however, it may be that it will work while you are still in SETUP mode...I did not try that because, fortunately, all my settings were already programmed the way I wanted them.

Oh my goodness. My dog chewed up my digital stream remote and I have been watching the same channel for a week. I bought a new universal remote but it would not control the box. After reading this I got it and have turned the channel for the first time in a week! Thank you so much for the step by step....

I have a rca dtv converter box...and a no name universal remote..i got it programed to my tochiba tv ,,,it will turn on and off but I cannot change channel or get set up wizard
