Corrupted files hi. I bought my archos 605 a few weeks ago at home in Englnd but i have come to Oz for a year, now I am here none of my songs will play.... it says 'corrupted file' ho can I fix this please? cheers lee-anne

My Archos 1 Vision. Wont play a particular music file. It has played it amazingly fine since i bought it 3 months ago. It was connected to my computer charging for a while, then i turned my system off so it was off for a while.
Wanted to listen to a few songs before bed,turned it on,selected Music,Scrolled down to the file i wanted,Went to select a song.........FROZEN! I can turn it off but the same thing happens everytime i go to select something from this file
Please help i need music on my travels ;-)

I think that the driver update that you're talking about is the firmware update, it is free to get the update through the archos website. All of the songs from itunes can't be put onto the archos. If you want the content portal you must purchase the cinema plugin. (that's the way archos designed the product) Your archos must be set on window media player first, before you can put your songs onto it, go to menu, click system and choose window media player and you can transfer your songs. Call tech support at archos 18773008879. This should help.

There is no solution to this problem i am sorry but you will have to record it over i asked the Archos company themselves and their is no solution

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Go to the Archos website and type in your model number - my case 605 WiFi - and it shows you a list of firmware downloads. Just click to download the latest firmware update which you should save in your desktop - it's about 45Mb-. Once te download is complete open My Computer on your PC and click on teh Archos icon which takes you to internal hard drive icon, click on this icon and paste the update (aos) file from your desktop into this level of teh Archos - Don't paste it into any of the folders as it wont work!

When you disconnect your Archos from your PC it will display that it has found an update and would you like to install it, click on Yes and Voila! WMP playlist will now sync properly to the Archos!

I have been in the habit of just suspending my Archos between use. Problem was solved by simply turning the Archos off completely. On switch on, recording worked perfectly.

Sounds familiar, I did that a few years ago, then it seemed that it formatted my whole mp3, then copied what i wanted. So if I wanted to sync 1 song, that was all on my mp3 after the sync...
That's the last time I used sync, bad memories.
I now copy manually from the PC to my Archos. Then you can control the order of the mapsand the maps you add. If you sych, WMP puts every map in the library in the Arhos music folder.
I just don't get the point of synchronising...

Try adding some songs using Windows Media Player. Then on the home screen go to menu-system-system repair tools and reset the temporary settings ( the 1st option on top). Warning:If you have rated your songs the ratings will disapear.

Make sure when you format archos its in file system fat32. I can only assume you need check folder permissions, which is why you cannot write to drive.

If change the setting of the 605 to "hard disk" then a PC sees the 605 as a hard disc when connected using the usb lead. You can then copy and paste files directly to the 605..

mine's just gone a similar way - made a playlist and saved it...all songs were playing ok up until then. When i went to play the playlist it told me that the file was corrupt then proceeded to tell me all 14000 songs were corrupt...just in the middle of an attempted repair!
