Yes they are. Printers are one of the most common types of output devices but they can also be considered input devices because of the multi-function printers that include scanners and copiers.

and the busy pin goes back to 1963 at IBM
and is on all printers made and is Input to the PC and if busy PC stops sending data
or you over run the buffer in said printer.
I written a few printer drivers, etc.
no scanners needed to be true ever.
just a printer even the most simple made

How to output sound to a 2nd device

If you need an analogue output, you can tap stereo analogue audio by using one of the two sets of "pre-out" RCA jacks on the back of your receiver. These provide "headphone like" output power, and will not overload any analogue input connected to it EXCEPT MIC and PHONO inputs on the 2nd device. If it's digital audio output you need, there's an HDMI monitor out, that will provide digital audio to another HDMI input equipped device. You'll have to get a relatively cheap adaptor if you need this digital audio output in another digital format/connection (like the popular S/PDIF optical or coaxial).

Not printing or receiving fax

Is the problem not printing received faxes and cannot send faxes? Did this problem start suddenly? Has it ever worked?

My first suspicion is the drivers for the fax portion of your device. Do you have the Kyocera diagnostics for your device? That would tell you quickly. If you can print from the PC, Scan to the printer that would isolate the problem to the fax portion.

In that case, check all the wires from the phone jack on the wall to the fax and any output lines from the fax to the wall. Are they in good repair? Is your phone line connected? Do you have dial tone on that phone line? The other place to check is the phone line input/output jacks on the back. Are they switched? The normal connection is from the phone jack on the was to the input jack on the device. Then from the output jack on the device to the telephone.

Changed color cartridge, but red prints as yellow

The printer is working, but the colors in the printed output are not the expected colors. The output may look as if only one color has printed, or as if a color has not printed, or as if the wrong colors have been printed.
Printers and Faxes in the Windows Control Panel , then right-click your printer icon and clickProperties . Click Printing Preferences . Click the Services tab, then theService This Device icon.

My Dell A960 when I scan on the flatbed, it has a yellow stain across the middle. Any suggestions on how to clear up?

Try it in Safe Mode- this will be ugly since it's in 16 colors, but if the streak goes away it may indicate an issue with your video driver. If it does not go away, check your target output device setting (is it the printer, the screen, or a device you don't have) and change it to another output device to see if it goes away.

My Lexmark Z25 is not recognized by my computer. I have had this printer for years and have tried every thing but to no avail.

I am assuming you have Windows XP.
1. Be sure you have selected the Z25 as the output device when the printer window appears. You may have an old printer selected - or some other output device (like "Microsoft Office Document Image Writer").
2. Open "Printer & Faxes" in the Control Panel. Is the Z25 there?
If not, go to:
http://support.lexmark.com/index?locale=en&productCode=Z25_COLOR_JETPRINTER&userlocale=EN_US&segment=DOWNLOAD&os=WINDOWS_XP&page=downloadsList&oslocale=en_US#1
and download a fresh driver - and install it.
3. Your cable may be broke. Your printer power may be broke. Does your power light come on?

There is no Gray, it is Green gray. Photos are not what is seen on screen, Need calibration or something.

The colors on your computer monitor might differ from the device output. Select Screen Match in the Color tab of the printer driver.

For most users, the best method for matching colors on your screen to your printer is to print sRGB colors. The printer uses sRGB and automatically optimizes color output.
