Sony vaio touch pad not working.

Goto Start>>Run

Type

devmgmt.msc

press ok

in device manager doubel click Mice and pointing device and right click and uninstall the touch pad driver and uninstall

then restart the computer ..

So you need to update driver for this touchpad scrolling error.

This will download the driver for your touch pad then you need to run the driver that you downloaded.
Then restart the notebook
Check whether it is working.

Hello, if your touch pad is diabled you need to enble it from VAIO Control Center. You need connect a external mouse in order to follow the steps easily: Click Start, All Programs, and VAIO Control Center. From there you need look for Touch Pad > enable it.

Go to Control Panel
SEE mouse icon... OPEN this
see if the touch pad is disabled

Try to go to the site Sony VAIO model specofic download latest driver for the touch pad

there are specific setting to enable the pad somehate it some love it but you can sort it out by looking at Control Panel /device manager etc

if USB mouse is working at least you can navigate to find issue

Try to update the drivers for ALPS Pointing Device.

That would start working properly.

reinstall the driver

dear kenkasza, i am afraid that you will lose the warranty if you open ya laptop all by yourself.

My Vaio touchpad started behaving strange. I could move the curser, but no response on left or right click or double tap. Also found that in any search field or user name fields, the computer would just type endless 9's. My wireless mouse could operate the left and right click buttons, but not move the curser. A suggestion to get the mousepad operating again was to touch any key on the keyboard. This allowed it to function again. Final solution was to remove the battery, then hold down the start key for about a minute, reinsert the battery and start it up. It seems to have resolved the problem. I have a 3 month only laptop with Windows 7 already installed. Hope this helps.
