There is a water pan or drain pan that holds the defrost water. After a while the heat dissapates the water so it should be dry.
It is located underneath the frig. Remove the grill on the front bottom and with a flashlight you should find it. Its either on the left or the right, since you did not provide the model number.

I had this problem and it turns out that the filter cartridge had a leak and a constant drip into the drip pan. The drip pan is designed to capture the runoff from the self defrost but not a constant drip. The first thing you should do is remove your water filter cartridge - this will stop the drip until you can get a new cartridge. If that doesn't work just turn the water supply to the fridge off. You won't have ice but you won't have a leaky fridge either.

Thank willie for helping with one: "Well, it looks like the pan is a seperate plastic pan and not the compressor mounting pan like some of the newer ones are. It appears that you have to remove the condensor fan motor and mounting bracket then maybe the pan will left up and over the compressor, or maybe there is enough room to lift the pan up and out the front over the condensor coils"
