I have a nikon d 3100 and upload all my photos to my computer by inserting the memory card directly into my computer. I am using Picasa to upload my pictures. I have a few videos that I have also taken with the camera and these are not being uploaded. I don't understand why the videos are not uploading?

There should be an option within Picasa that allows you to also include video. I'm not familiar with Picasa but most post processing programs provide these upload options. Let me know.

SOURCE: only uploads certain photos?

Does your computer have enough space for all of the files? If you've checked that it does, you might try using a different program, such as Adobe Bridge. As a Canon user Canon's Digital Photo Professional is free (unlike Bridge), and it can allow you to see thumbnails of the images on your card. I've heard from other users to be sure you're using your camera to format the CF card and not your computer- somehow that affects the file storage system on the card. Good luck.

How do I delete pictures from my Nikon D3200 camera when importing pictures using Picasa

I do not use a program to transfer photos. I typically take the memory card out and access it directly, in some cases, with an adapter. I will always back up photos before I delete them. I then delete the photos off the memory card.

How to connect Nikon Coolpix 3100 Digital Camera with my pc

Do you REALLY want to connect your camera to your computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa or Nikon Transfer.

Damaged memory card

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Another way is to purchase a USB memory card reader, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into the USB card reader. Then connect the USB card reader into the USB port of your computer, the computer will see it as an external memory card. You can view the contents of the memory card and copy the photo files to the computer.

Cannot Upload Pictures from Camera

Have you tried a memory card reader?

What software are you using? I would try Nikon View. If this is what you are using, make sure you haven't set some of the options in the download window, as you can choose to download only photos within a certain a date range, or photos with cetrain attributes. You get an error message somewhat similar to the one you describe if you've set these options and no pictures match them.
