SOURCE: kitchen spout leaks
Hi buffy9,
I'm Harvet the Master Plumber.
Your question is: You have an American Standard two faucet in my kitchen and the base of the spout leaks at the base. How do you remove it and replace the washers?
Are we talking about an American Standard two HANDLE faucet or one of the single handle models?
Thank you,
Harvey your Master Plumber

Start by removing the spray head from the hose. Pull the spray head out and with a channel lock pliers unthread connection between the spray head and hose. BE CAREFUL not to let the hose fall back down into the faucet. With the hose directed down toward the sink test for volume by turning on the faucet. If you get a nice volume the problem is in the spray head. This is usually the case. Put the spray head back on then remove the aerator. It's the screen where the water comes out of the spray head. Clean out the assembly ( 3-4 parts). Reassemble and test.
Good luck, Phil

at the spout near the base is an echeion ring. turn this counterclock wise then pull up ring to expose the neck, pull spout straight up.this echeion cap holds on the spout to the base there are plastic parts inside so be careful when pulling apart.
