Is the stanby light on?
Hi Russ Many thanks for responding - No the standby light is off - My son tells me he replaced plug fuse yesterday & TV worked fine. Would not power on this morning - Thanks - Gerry
then i would say it has blown the 5 volts side of the main power board. could be a simple as the internal fuse or the main power board has failed. they are easy to change just the board. i've just looked on line at prices and they are not to bad. but would check the internal fuse first.. mains plug fuse is 5am. internal is 3amp

.... Will purchase a "working" board. I appreciate your replies and advice - hopefully "she" will be soon up and running:)
that is ok hope it all goes well. if you get a cheap board without using a trade in you can fix it and keep it as a spare.. I have spare boards for mine
Have a friend coming round later to help me lift it down. I'll be able to stick a meter on it & see what's "happening". Hopefully it will be a simple swap out - Gerry
