I have JVC AV-32F702 L'Art TV I bought in Dec of 2004.
The picture is very dark, so dark that I had to turn the brightness all the way up and even then if a movie or tv show has any kind of night scene everything is black.
I tried the tv with two different dvd players, two different dish network receivers and even on air tv and got the same result with each.
Is there a simple fix for this, or a part I can order? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is there a simple fix for this,
yes
The picture is very dark
it is mostly due to
1 power supply output is low.
2 voltage on crt g2 pin is low.
3 video output supply is low.
4 some components in luminance section might be defective or loose.
5 finally crt getting weak but as you have bought in 2004 so possibility is rear.
good luck

Unfortunately, there is no easy fix for this. If it were a rear projection TV, I'd suggest a new bulb. Even on a Plasma there are things that can be done. But on a CRT, the repair for a dark screen usually costs more than replacing it.
I have the AV-27S33 model and in the rear to the right of the inputs are two slits and inside these slits are two screws. The top screw is the focus, the bottom the brightness.Your tv is a different model but it may have this same adjustment,if it does try turning the bottom screw to the right to increase the brightness.
There are two small holes on the rear side through which you can adjust focus and screen. Use a flash light and locate the two adjustable slots inside the holes. This part carries high voltage. Do not use a metal screwdriver to adjust. Put the TV facing a mirror so you can see how it works. Do not turn more than 1/8th of a turn. The focus control makes picture sharp or fuzzy. Screen control could change brightness. While watching the picture in the mirror, slightly adjust the screen control. Do not turn too much. If it doesn't work, then call a JVC authorized repair center.
Any malfunction associated with a flashing light usually indicates a
circuit problem or defective component. Unfortunately, the days of
taking off the back cover of your TV and replacing a defective tube or
fuse are long gone. Proper servicing will require troubleshooting
procedures that can only be performed by a qualified electronic repair
facility or professional television repair person. Ask for an estimate
and a realistic appraisal of whether the set can be adequately fixed.
Depending on the age and condition of your TV it may not be cost
effective to repair.
My jvc 27" tv was so dark I could hardly see any night scenes, even with the bright all the way on. If you push the sleep button, let go, then hold down the video and display (together), the service menu will come on. Scroll down to #7 (too dark) and adjust the brightness there. Works immediately. Good luck.
Sorry, no easy answer here. On an older set this would be
espected and not worth repairing, but you should take this to a TV shop
for troubleshooting. Most likely culprit is the flyback
transformer and/or the horizontal deflection.
Hope Ya Fix It.
Roger, if your contrast (sometimes called picture) and brightness controls are at max you can increase the tubes brightness by turning the "screen control" clockwise, be advised a little turn goes a long ways, don`t crank it too far or you will get retrace lines, you will have to remove the back from the set and follow the red wire down from the tube to the "flyback transformer" on the front of the flyback are 2 controls, focus and screen, do not move the focus control, this should fix your problem.

have JVC AV-32F702 TV. It's picture color is very red. unable to adjust colors through menu. Channel numbers are also in red now instead of normal green. any suggestion?
please check red color cathode circuit
1 check red output from ic to red cathode ckt
2 check voltage on r output ckt& ic or tr.
3 check loose contact in red cathode ckt
4 check crt base for loose.
5 loose connector
6 chroma ic
thanks
