SOURCE: ipod nano 4th generation 8gb purple wont turn off

no there is nothing wrong. This is normal, after you turn it off by pressing the hold/pause button switch it into the locked position. When you take the lock off and press anything it will come back on exactly where you left it. Don't worry it is not faulty. it is supposed to do this.

I hope this helps

SOURCE: my ipod nano 4th generation wont unlock

Reconnect your iPod to the Primary Computer where you set up the iPod originally. This will unlock the iPod and allow you to change the lock code.

I have a ipod touch 4th 8 gb. It fell in water but was put in rice, screen cracked tho. It all works except when i use the usb port it doesnt make that one sound, show that it is charging, or it wont...

It could be dirty connections. 1) Turn off the device.

2) Take a charge cable and dip it in rubbing alcohol.

3)You then want to take the damp cable and plug it in and out of the device. Do this a few times, and then make sure it is dry before you plug it into any power source.

4th generation ipod touch is unresponsive

Hello Jak,

Start by plugging your iPod into your computer and check if there are any updates through iTunes.

Mac products are notorious for bugging out when there is a software update and the device is not updated.

Also, plugging the iPod into itunes also helps resolve most software related issues

Thanks,

Pat

Ipod ''dead''

Plug your iPod into a wall charger, let it lie for a couple of hours. When these batteries become completely flat, it won't easily charge through computer usb, so try the wall charger, see if it works.

New Ipod Nano 4th Gen 16GB has went blank and will not turn on

HI there,

worst case scenario is that a circuit has broken inside. But your ipod will be under warrenty for a year from purchase.

Otherwise, leave the ipod to charge for a long time. Just leave it connected directly to the computer USB port despite not having any change in appearance. Also, don't connect it via a usb hub or through your keyboard. You will need to plug it into your computer directly.

You can also try entering DFU mode. Here is a great step by step guide to do that. http://iphonefreakz.com/beginners-guide/howto-dfu-mode/

Then restore the ipod and update the firmware. Make sure you have the latest version of itunes installed. By checking through software update.

I hope this helps,

Nathan.

IMode IP215 Won't Charge iPod 4th Generation

It's because it charges via FireWire and your iPod charges via USB. This 12V vs. 5V. I've encountered this twice recently myself. Scosche makes an adapter that's sold through the Apple Store.
