PROGRAM FAILING TO RUN

Try running it in xp compatibility mode in 32 bit mode

Set the compatibility back to windows 7 and then uninstall the program and all of it's drivers, then reinstall it and see if it works then.

i did install the driver from pinnicle that says it will work up to xp.
its not hard but follow these steps, and ignore all these people that are saying it wont work, and throwing them out.
the problem, the install is not compatible with vista, so you change the compatibility of the file to xp pro. its easy here:
1. download the driver from pinnacle, its: PCLEUSB.exe
2. dont install it yet
3. right mouse click
4. hit the 'compatibility' tab
5. check the 'run this program in compatabilty mode for:'
6. scroll and select 'windows xp (service pack 2)'
7. also check the 'run this program as an administrator box'
8. click the 'apply button'
now:
click and run the file, its going to think its running under xp.
dont plug in the usb for the dazzle. wait for the install the driver.
when its done plug in the dazzle, it will look for the driver it will find it and will install it, since you ran the pcleusb.exe. hell the dazzle thinks its running in xp. now any software will use it and it will be in all you video software as the "dazzle dvc80" in video options and same for audio. works great, clean video and clean audio. just like new.

Common problem with their software (its junk).
Try using Corel Video Studio to run the card - they have a free 30 day trail download. Their package is about the best that I have seen so far.

It doesn't fully work in Vista. You have to set it to run in Windows XP compatibility mode. Right click your desktop icon; select properties; select the compatibility tab.

1. Start the computer and make sure that the current version of Windows has started.
2. Insert the Windows Vista DVD into the DVD drive and then close the drive tray. Wait a moment for the Setup program to start automatically.
3. If the Setup program does not start automatically, follow these steps:
   1. Click Start and then click Run.
   2. Type Drive:\setup.exe and then click OK.
      
      Note Drive is the drive letter of the computer’s DVD drive.
4. When the Setup program starts and the Install now screen appears, click Install now.
   
   Note When you receive with the Get important updates for installation message, click Go Online.
5. Click Upgrade when the Which type of installation do you want? screen appears.
   
   If you cannot click Upgrade and you receive an error message, go to the "Troubleshooting" section if you are comfortable trying to troubleshoot, or go to the "Next Steps" section to determine your next steps.
6. Follow the instructions to install Windows Vista.

If Windows Vista is now running on your computer, you have completed the upgrade to Windows Vista.

I found a download patch on the knowledge network at pinnaclesys.com website. They don't advertise the fix, but I searched for "installation failure studio 10" and found an entry for downloading pixie5updater. Apparently there is a problem with some dual-core machines with IE7.

first download and install the missing .dll in the pinnaclestudio10 directory.

after installing reboot and try again. if another dll error occurs, google it and download. It's the only way I know without proper support.

If you haven't already, try running the program in Vista's compatibility mode for XP. This page has instructions on how to do that.

If you've already tried that, or if it doesn't work when you try it, the program may simply be incompatible with Vista; if that's the case, you'll have to wait until the program's author releases a Vista-compatible version.
