My 1980 450sl AC works good while in park, when I start driving it blows hot air could this be a vaccum problem?

Well, yes they did borrow the system from Chrysler and the main problem was with the main controller unit where you adjust the temp and has the controls. They were known to separate at the unit allowing vacuum to leak and to cause this problem as well. Typically when it is running, you should be able to put your fingers at the rear of the unit and find the vacuum leak that way.

Tip

Freezer not working, things to check

The unit needs two fans running and good airflow, one fan outside cools the condensor coil and the other inside the unit blowing across the evaporator coil, warming it. The compressor must start up. The defrost timer stops everything and switches on a heating element to defrost the evaporator for several minutes. Please verify these conditions. The condensor coil may get clogged with dirt and lint, the evaporator may get clogged with ice build up, or the fan may quit working due to bad bearings, need for lubrication, or burn out. The defrost timer has an internal motor and contacts which may quit working, some have a way to manualy turn it to switch its mode in case it quits working.

LG LP0711WNR blows cold air for a few minutes, then starts blowing warm air. It will start blowing cold air again if I wait several minutes. Or if I turn it off and wait a few minutes it will blow c

I just experienced this problem myself. What helped me was cleaning out the lint trap. My guess is that the until sucks in air through there, then conditions it. Blows the cold air out the top, and hot air out the tube. When it can't suck a decent amount of air in, the condenser can only condense so much of that limited amount of air. When it runs out, the unit just runs the fan until enough air has been condensed.

My lint trap was filthy, hadnt Bern cleaned in years. Soon as I popped it off, the unit started belching out cold air nonstop. Clean your lint traps! Don't make my mistake!

Tractor starts and runs for 2 minutes and quits. New spark plug didn't help. No spark after tractor quits running. It will restart in 10 minutes.

Sorry to stste the obvious, but it is going to be an ingnition unit breaking down, the only answer to this is to replace the unit, contact the engine manufacturers dealer with all the numbers from the engine housing, this should help to find the correct unit.

Air not blowing from vents..or not cooling

It is quite possible the indoor coil is frozen up. This can be caused by dirty filter, dirty coil or low on freon. Turn ac to "off" and fan switch to "on" for 45 minutes. Then try again and see if air flow improves.

Fan quitting on unit

Maybe the room is dry enough so the humidity sensor is turning it off?

If not, maybe the thermisensor(fuse) on the fan motor is failing?

Ac fan on, blowing air, but not cold

Check outside unit if unit and compressor are running feel the large line to see if it is cold. If compressor is running and line is not cold possible charge problems. You may have a capacitor problem outside. they go out quite often. You can change this yourself, Open up outside unit and the cap is the silver bullet with terminals out the top. Bad cap can cause compressor to not operate and also the fan. You need to clean the coil inside or at leat check the coil to see if it is clean. You can clean theis with a toilet brush do not go against the coil bit brush with the fins. You may need to call a service tech but try these options first. russ

I own an armstrong air unit after about 30 minutes the unit seems to get hot and the fan quits the compressor is still running I changed the motor on the fan and it still does the same thing I have also...

Chech the fans rotation , the fan is suppose to blow air out the top, also if you changed the fan out ,check for the blade on right, its suppose to scoop the air from the inside and blows it out the top,, also replace the capicator...sounds to me like the motors getting too hot and tripping on internal ly high temp. Hey, slow down "Big Money"! The problem is around the fan location! Thank-you-very-much!
