Hp elitebook screen flickers

Probably the problem comes up with two different reasons. 1st is Horizontal control section in LCD may failed or in irrecoverable situation. 2nd is display drivers crashed or not supporting the laptop.

that may indicate that something is wrong probably with the inverter board. its a hardware issue and may require you to have unit dismantled and checked.

please change the INVERTER card of the screen of your laptop

check in the bios by taping F10
if the screen is flickering in the bios then it is a hardware issue
if it does not flicker in the bios then it is not a hardware issue
try updating the display driver
if it does not work then needs to perform a recovery on the computer

sir try un-installed your video card then install angain.

CHECK IN BIOS. If the screen is flickering in BIOS then it is hardare issue.

1.Please power ON the notebook, Keep tapping F10 as soon as you power it ON.
2.Press the F9 key to reset the BIOS defaults, it will ask to restore defaults. Hit Yes.
3.Press F10 and save the changes.
In BIOS please check if you can see the flickering. If the screen is same in BIOS then it is hardware issue. If you do not see the screen flickering in the BIOS then please update the BIOS and graphics driver

this is common, the display is bad.
all displays, fail. all do. no reason to get angry,
a broken display is worth nearly zero value $0
so how much money will you spend on worthless.?
you can get a new display at Walmart for $65, ,
lines are usually very serious. and is not ever the DC-DC inverter
a bad inverter (< it's power supply) is for the back ground lamps. not data side. the data side is failing and is common, if you twist the screen
it gets worse. ? bingo. data driver connections bad , screen.
IN most cases the part that is bad (screen), costs $100 new. or 50 used

I am sure that the issue is related to the cable that connects to the LCD Display or the LCD Backlight.
There should be some connection shortage because of which the LCD flickers few times as stated by dan231.
I Recommend you to get the Notebook examined as soon as possible before something really goes wrong...

doe syour lcd screen have pc input or dvi > also in your nvidia control panel u nee dto tell it add 720 p tv outto display manger always 60 hertz try differt resultion 1024x 768

Hi, i noticed that when I unplugged my HP the screen stopped flickering. I then re-plugged in the power, when to the Nvidia control settings, to PowerMizer, and changed 'ac outlet' to Maximum Power Saving.

Not the world's greatest solution, but hey, working laptop now.
