The SP7205 will only show 480P. I have connected a DVD to the 7205 via composite cables however the unit only shows 480p. How can I get 720p or 1080i?

Unfortunately the highest video signal you'll receive through composite is 480p. To achieve anything higher than the said signal, you'll need to utilize either the component or DVI input of the projector. Those inputs will detect any HD signals.

Also if you've not done so already, you'll need to check the settings of your DVD player to make sure that it's outputting 720p and/or 1080i/p signal. Hope this helps you out.

New ps3,new 40in. samsung 3d led, new monster hdmis yet when i play god of war3 which is capable of 1080i it automatically gives me 720 not even 720p. so i unchecked 720p in setup and it gave me 1080 not...

To change this setting, you must exit the application and change your Video Output Settings from the display settings option in the Settings menu. Make sure the tv is not set on 720p/i and that it is set to 1080i. There has been issues with games that are 1080 downscaling the resolution. this can be confirmed by reading this article. if you provide me with the model of the tv. I can help assist you in ensuring its on 1080p. If you need further assistance please let me know after you try the following above. Thanks, Midwest-tek

I have a problem with using the HDMI

Please make sure that your receiver can display high definition signal, such as 720P, 1080P. As you know your HDTV is high definition source, it can only be displayed on the display machine that have ability to display high definition HDTV signal.
This will help. Thanks, please keep updated. please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

How to change from 480i to 1080i

The TV has a automatic scalier chip installed so it depends on the input signal that you are using. For example you are using a HDMI connection with a xbox 360 and you set the display setting to 720P then the TV will display it in 720P. If you set it to 480P then it will display it in 480P.

My ws-65611 always stay in 480i even with HD signal.

If you are using the component connection, make sure you are connected to the one that will support 1080i. If that is not the problem, make sure that the HD receiver is outputting 1080i and not 720p. No RPCRT will support 720p and the video may be down-rezed to 480 since this is the case.

HD BOX SETTINGS

The Auto setting does exactly what it sounds like. It detects what the native signal is coming in e.g.(480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p) and auomatically sets the box to the optimum setting. P=Progressive scan. I-interlaced. Progressive is much better than interlaced. 720p actually has more clarity than 1080i. Basically 1080i=520p! So I would set it at 720p if possible. But automatic is the easiest with the least amount of configuration. If you set it for 720p, then odds are you will have to set yout tv to 720p also.
