Will not work in usb 2.0 but will work in usb 1.0

Connect the Player to the USB 2.0 port on the Comptuer then open the Device Manager and expand the "universal serial bus controllers" category.
Under the serial bus controller category, check if there is any exclamation mark visible. If there is any then right click on it and select Uninstall. Restart the Computer after uninstalling the device with exclamation mark. Restarting the Computer with the player connected will make the Computer recognize the connected player.

Furthermore, check whether there is any universal serial host controllers prefixed with "Enhanced".

If there is no Enhanced universal serial host controller listed under the "serial bus controller" category then it's required to install the USB 2.0 driver.

In this case, uninstall all the devices listed under the universal serial controllers category then restart the Computer to reload them automatically.
