You can take out the batteries for 20 seconds, then put them back in. Generally if that doesnt work, try to replace the batteries. If that still doesnt work you might have to reset your remote in order to get it functioning again. Let me know if you have done those steps or were you are at after you do this.

I had a similar problem. The UHF remote for receiver 2 stopped working one day. It ended up being the antenna on the back of the receiver. For me it apparently only works if the antenna is horizontal and not vertical like it states in the manual. I think it got moved while we were dusting.

Hello! My name is Becki, with DISH Network. If you have not yet programmed your remote, here are some steps and codes that should work. If not, please let me know!!

1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote
2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below)
3. Press the # (POUND) button
4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code

Our remote won't work ! The dish network remote will not work either, even after attempting to program it with a dish network tech. Also the remote sensor light on the tv that is normally green, it is now...

We apologize for the issues you have been experiencing, we would be happy to help you with getting your DISH Network remote working. The first thing we want to check is if the issue isaffecting multiple buttons on the remote. If you are having the issue withspecific buttons then the remote needs to be replaced, give us a call at1-800-333-DISH (3474). Check if you are using the correct remote for thecorrect room, there may be a number on the bottom of the remote that tells youwhich room the remote should be in. If UHF, check that your UHF remote antennais securely connected to the "Remote Antenna" port on the backof your receiver and that the antenna is upright. At this point we want tore-address your remote, if issue is with the TV2 remote, bring your TV2 remotewith you to TV1. Access "System Info" at TV1. Using theremote that is NOT functioning, press and release the "SAT" buttonthen press and release the RECORD button on remote control. If thebatteries in the remote have not been replaced in the past 60 days, replace thebatteries. Reset the receiver by unplugging it for 10 seconds then plug it backin then re-address the remote again. If the remote is still not working at thispoint then it may be an interference issue. If you are having issues with aninfrared remote, find interference source (backlighting or power save mode onLCD TV's, fluorescent lighting in room, or direct sunlight), eliminate, orconvert remote to UHF. If you are having issues with an UHF remote, findinterference source (component (VCR, DVD Player, etc.) near DISH receiver),adjust UHF antenna, or distance UHF antenna from receiver using coaxcable/barrel connector. If the remote is still not working after all thesesteps we need to have your remote replaced.

We really hope all these steps resolve your remote issue. Thank you for being avalued DISH Network customer!

My dish network remote stop working

It sounds as though you might have just accidentally pressed a button and changed the remote into an incorrect mode for example, tv, or aux mode. This would in fact prevent the remote from successfully working with the DISH Network receiver. If this is the problem, then the remote simply needs to be put into "SAT" mode, once its back in SAT mode you will then be able to change channels, select menu, power receiver on and off, etc. The "SAT" button is labeled & in the upper left hand corner of the remote to put the remote back in satellite mode, please just press that SAT once and then release, the SAT button should briefly light up red & then the light will go out, you should then be able to use the remote again, to ensure remote was successfully changed back to SAT mode, you can press select or any other button you chose & as long as the SAT button lights up when you press another remote control button- then your all set to go & everything should be working once again! I hope this helps -please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with! -Kirstie DISH Network

Remote has stopped working

purple_mochi

Even though the buttons illuminate on the remote, it may not have sufficient power to actually operate the receiver commands. Replacing the batteries may solve your issue. If it doesn't, then readdressing the remote to the receiver should resolve the issue. I have provided instructions on how to readdress. I hope this helps.

Remote: All Other Remotes
  1. Go to System Info screen
  2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  4. Press the pound (#) button
  5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Cannot control Vip222 with sling classic

I have read elsewhere that Slingboxes required the Dish Network receivers to be set to Primary Remote Address 1.

To try a fix:

Using the Dish Network Remote Control -
1. Press menu 2 times to get to system info page
2. In the system info page the Primary Remote Address is in a white box (bubble) followed by a Green TV (1)symbol that says IR and indicates the channel to which remote control 1 is configured.

If the Primary Remote Address of your Dish VIP722 Remote control 1 is not set to channel 1, here is how to change it:

1. While displaying the system info page, press and hold the SAT button on your dish network remote until all other modes are flashing, about 3 seconds.
2. then press the '1' button on the numeric pad of your dish remote
3. then press the '#' button on the numeric pad of the dish remote
4. then press the 'record' button (red dot button - stores setting)
5. At this point you should see a number 1 in front of the primary remote address on the dish system info page

Ensure you enter the corresponding IR code into your slingbox remote control per the instructions in the Slingbox documentation.
