Dim monitor I have a VE710b monitor purchased in 2004. For the last 6months the screen has been steadily getting dimmer and dimmer progressing from the left hand side of the screen. Initially the screen would get back to full brightness with a minute but now it may be 3-4 minutes before full brightness returns. Any ideas ??

5 years old, lamps are good for about 50 000 to 60 000 hours of life you would have to do the math based on average number of hours per week/month and see where your are, several things to check initially are inside look for blown capacitors, you can find images all over the net Google "blown capacitor image" and you will see what to look for.
Next could be inverter failure as they get old and work pretty hard. Last the ccfl lamps may be dieing of old age like the florescent lamps in buildings, they get burnt at each of the ends and have a hard time lighting up.
let me know what you find.

There is no magic way to repair monitors, they have to be opened and the components looked at to make a judgment call if there are components that need replacement, I can not just snap my fingers and fix stuff, I need your help to find out information to try to help you repair your monitor, we do accept work here on Fix ya most of us have ads here.
I try to help people here because its better than just being greedy.

I have VE710b monitor,i turn on monitor display dim.after 10 minute it coming good bright ness.

It seems to be the problem with the lamps inside the LCD screen. You have to replace one or both of them. You have to observe in what part of the screen is brighter, and how it changes in time.
tip

I have the overall yellow tint in my lcd monitor there are no magnets close to...

The discoloration problem is due to the near by magnetic field appliances like speakers which are very near to monitors ...
so what you have to do is just keep some distance to the monitor from the speakers and other magnetic appliances and then press menu button & just give degauss..

Monitor turns on and off

Is it an HP or a Viewsonic screen ?

Either way, looks like a power supply problem to me, some Viewsonic screens are known to have a problem with their inner power supply card, If your screen is still under warranty I suggest you don't lose time analysing the problem and just make them come and fix/replace it

Monitor problem

It sounds as if the backlights are failing. It is probably cheaper to replace the monitor than anything.

Hi light is going dim day by day

your monitor is going to damage.the parts inside has leak.the capacitor inside.if you can open your monitor try to diagnose capcitors beside flyback.some of them has a leaky state.ok good luck.
