Mitsubishi VS60603 convergence

I was having problems with the convergence on this set. I located the service codes and adjusted the values but still couldn't get the arcs completely out. I replaced the STK modules as was recommended to me by a friend. The convergence grids are now almost straight and much clearer than before but won't adjust when doing the advanced convergence or the basic convergence.

the red line and blue lines are not converging.

Convergence problem present when tv is on for a while... once it cools off it is ok again. The blue is not straight it arch's thus making the white look yellow. I have a Mitsubishi ws-55905.

Two years ago I had exactly the same problem. With the remote I could line up the red, green. and blue lines pretty good but not perfect. The local tech for Mitsubishi told told me I neededa certain new board that controled thr convergence but Mitsubishi didn't manufacture that board any more. I called Mitsubishi customer service and they gave me a voucher for $750.00 towards a new TV. This board can be fixed if you can find a real tv tech and not just a parts changer, If you cant find anyone to fix it maybe Dave at Sy Electronics in Gilbert can help you find one, The number is 480-917-8889.

I got this TV for FREE from a guy posting it on craigslist because he saw "BLUE SWIRL LINES" also knows as "Retrace Line" on the screen and he went to several repair people and got high repair costs so he was giving it away for free, but i found a guide that tells you how to adjust the tv to make the blue or green or red lines go away, aparantly the line show up because the voltage on the color ray gun tubes that get out of adjustment. Here is the Link to the REPAIR GUIDE. http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com
and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

How do I reset my Mitsubishi WS-65908

Model number here has 3 hidden menus--adjustment (keep out of that one) and convergence, and OPTION menu.

In the Option menu with the Mitsubishi remote you can do a hard reset of entire set--sets everything back to factory except convergence adjustments.

This requires the Mitsubishi remote and a 4 digit number code.

I am willing to give that but first would like to know WHY you wish to do that as it will not cure all problems like dead set, convergence etc.

How do i reset my mitsubishi television model#ws-55511

First a reset may not help unless I know what your problem is.

If model listed (WS-55511) IS CORRECT: set has 3 hidden menus:

Option Menu (hard reset of all settings to factory)
Technical Menu (Adjustments for various things)
Convergence Menu for adjusting convergence.

THESE ARE NOT ACCESSED FROM CUSTOMER MENU. Each requires Mitsubishi remote and a 4 digit code .......

So, What is your issue with the set?

I have the codes but it depends on model number and what problem with set is, reset is in Option menu but will not cure all problems.

Mitsubishi VS-50803 Big Screen TV - Trying to hook up an HDTV cable box, I was told to hit: menu, 1, 3, 7, 0 - to get to the service menu and switch DTV over to HD and that would solve my no signal...

First please confirm actual model number on rear of set.

Something is not right here, I am looking at Mitsubishi material downloaded in my computer; shows all codes for sets up to 2004. VS-50803 is a VZ6 Chassis made in 1998 and I doubt it is HD set, if it is one of the early ones it will have beneath the HD input vert sync and Horz sync---those required a special box from Mitsubishi etc.

Set has 3 hidden menus:
1. Option menu (for hard reset)= Menu 1,3,7,0 enter
2. Circuit adjust menu= Menu 2,3,5,7 enter
3. Convergence adjust menu= Menu, 2,3,5,9,enter (#4,5,6 on remote then change modes)

Does the DTV input have the two vert, horz jacks as well?

First is the Option menu is really only for a hard reset of the entire set, if you engaged it you may have de-converged the set.

The adjust menu is for height, width etc

The convergence menu is for convergence.

If you did something and did not save it, unplugging set should put it back to before what you did.

In the OPTION MENU WHAT DID YOU SELECT AND DID YOU HIT ENTER WHEN YOU FINISHED?

Where are the covergence controls in ws55809 tv located

All convergence adjustments on this set are done with the original remote control--you will find the CONVERGENCE in the customer menu---if set will not adjust there you have a circuit problem.

I have fixed hundreds of these sets--if it will not adjust let me know and I can tell you what is needed to fix it.

Mitsubishi Convergence issue

If the screen is out of focus you probably need to adjust the focus on the focus block it is usually located behind the front grill, there are 6 adjustment screws on this block, leave the screen controls along just adjust the red, green, and blue focus screws. When converging a set everything is converged to the green, the blue and red are suppose to come to the green.

VS60603 Does not turn ON - Also a STK392-570 problem? or 0244211

The STK392-570 would be the big IC's mounted to the heat sink on the convergence board. The 0244211 are capacitors that I would guess from your problem would be on the power supply (usually the top will bulge if these are bad)

Mitsubishi VS-50705 Red convergence off, vertical not adjustable

Your screen has gone crazy on you because your convergence IC's have gone bad.   These IC's operate at a very high temp, and usually only last 4-5 years.
If you remove the back of the set, you will want to look for the BIGGEST heatsink in there, on that heatsink, you will see 2 lage IC's , probably STK392-110, or STK392-150's or something close...regardless - you can go on ebay to order the new ones, but MAKE SURE they are Genuine SANYO IC's and not counterfiet cheapies. the cheap ones may only last 2 months..
You will also need some "Heat transfer paste" - you can pick this up at radio shack.   Once you remove the old IC's, test all the large resistors near them.. pull one side of the resistor out of the board so you can check it out of circuit. they will usually have the value in Ohms, printed directly on the resistor, but you may have to use the resistor color code to find out what value they are....However, usually if there is any damage, the resistor will look like it has been HOT or fried. replace the IC's and any bad resistors, and you should be good to go.   If after replacing the IC's and any defective resistors, the convergence is still bad, make sure to use a multimeter to check ALL fuses on the boards, --- sometimes when the IC's go, they will take out a fuse to the convergence power supply. If you find any bad fuses, replace them accordingly!   If this STILL doesnt make it look right, you will need to find out how to get into service mode and do a coarse convergence adjustment. This information can be found in the Service manual for your set. If you dont have one you can download it at servicemanuals.net   Hope that helps!

Are you sure its not a VS60603 ? VS80803 is not a valid model number for mitsubishi. If it is a VS60603 you can get a manual at the following link and they will contact you asking if you would like it emailed instantly. Its 10.99 for the Manual. Heres the link
they have quite a few Mitsubishi as well as other models and they offer free support with the manual.

Convergence no adjustment

There are black in color circuit protectors in the set that have blown because of the bad convergence IC's. You will need to measure the voltages on the ICs and make sure you have the correct plus and minus voltages. There should be about + and - 24 volts on each IC. I'm afraid the only way you will know what voltage are what and where they should be would be to get a service manual. i am sorry i do not have this model to share with you. Good Luck.
