Can not connect using LG Mobile Sync

I have the same problem like everyone else in this forum! here is the solution:

1. The USB modem driver came with the CD may or will not work, so get the latest drivers for it.

2. Before install the new drivers, change your phone setting under " setting -> USB connection -> from MASS STORAGE to DATA LINK.

3. Plug the usb cable to the phone and to your PC, it should do anything or give any message if it does just cancel it for now.

4. Install the new USB driver you just download, while install it will said something like " does not work with XP " just click OK don't panic.

5. After it finished installed you will see by the clock that it find the USB LG blah blah...and ding ding sound if you have sound on.

6. Now go back to LG Sync software and click on Connect & choose LG modem com port whatever it there.

7. You're done !!!

Yeah the link is all Italian ...don't panic, I couldn't read it either LOL...just click on the picture where you see the phone and the PC with wrap around with arrow, then follow instruction will be in English.

Go to connectivity and change it to Data.
To transfer contacts from Outlook, first import the contacts into the LG Sync software ie Go to File -> Import ->Outlook.
You'll get a prompt asking you to allow the software to access to Outlook address book.
When its done, select all the contacts (in the Sync software) and sync it to the phone (green arrow).

I just got the phone and expierenced similar problems to what others have reported. the solutions that describe switching the usb conncection options on the phone are accurate. I ecountered dilemas trying to use Mobile Sync. I was able to install the software and was able to get the software (tools) to show that the comm port was being recognized but at the bottom of the screen it read something like "no phone connection" or something similar and no options on the screens tabs (file) (view) etc. where clickable. I then clicked on the calendar button and all of a sudden the connect button right next to it was clickable. I was able to transfer all my Outlook contacts with phone numbers to my phone.

Before connecting, configure the USB port of your LG cellphone.
Menu/Configuration/Conectivity/USB port
The setting must be: "Data service" instead of "Mass storage"
This is for all versions of LG Mobile Sync and XP/Vista

Hi! I had the same problem with phone LG kf 510. I use Windows Xp. The solution: the first, put the Usb connection on Data service and then connect the phone with PC. The PC doesn't recognize phone on this setting. Then open the program LG mobile syng. Now on Usb connection choose Mass storage and again Data service. The phone starts to try to synchronize with the PC and to make connection with the program. But by this way to connect the phone with PC, the PC can't recognize it as external drive.

Ive got excatly the same problem too and its driving me mad anyone please help!

There is no way possible to sync any contacts into this phone ... if there is please tell how. I keep getting a error message that says the hardware may not be good.

LG Sync software runs on XP / ME / 2000 / WIN 98 versions, if your running vista you need to run Sync software as an older version.
In vista go to control panel / programs ...you can click on the "run as older version of software" link, (on left side of window) this will open a compatability wizard, follow on screen guidlines allowing the software to run as if on XP ! this will allow the software to run on vista platforms. If having sync problems refer to your phones usb connectivity. change this to data.

Hello my phone will not connect...and i have no option on changing to data...i have a rooted and unlocked phone...any suggestions on to update the phone...it will not connect to laptop...it connects but then wen it is "checking on the sync" is says there is a problem with the communication with pc to phone...any ideas please help

I have a problem. My phone LG GM200 screen has cracked. The screen is now totally black. I need to back up my contacts. I need to do the USB settings. Can someone pls help me. Can someone guide me by telling me how to get to USB settings. Example: Press Menu then press 1-2-3-4..........

I had same problem but fixed it as follows :-
Open DEVICE MANAGER [via control panel/system] Click on MODEMS + Right click LGE Mobile USB Modem and select Properties.
Click DIAGNOSTICS tab the click QUERY MODEM then wait for COMMAND and RESPONSES panel to
complete.
Once commands and respones are shown close Device Manager.
Open up the LG MOBILE SYNC appication click on Multimedia or Messages on Toolbar wait for widow to show selection then click Connect on toolbar, yiou then should see the connection window pop up with the Icons showing connection.
Then it will download whatever you selected on toolbar [-typically Messages say.

Hello ..Well guys i've been reading and trying most of your advices and the most simple thing to do is on the phone itself..you have to tune to phone settings so that any computers or notebooks or laptops can recognise it..
I have Lg KE850, go on the solution number 17..

Guys, read your installation Booklet.
You must just go in hand in settings - sync option (5) - usb (5) and everything works fine...

I need help cuz its not workin

1. In LG manager check in what numbers of the com ports are available for the phone
2. open the phone and modem options
3. check on which com the lge mobile usb modem is connected ...
change to the port available at LG manager :)

I faced the same problem, tried to sync with PC for two days with all types of solutions suggested. It finally worked. Thanks to Solution suggested on 20 May! End the processes for the ehsched.exe and ehtray.exe.

I have tried changing from "data" to mass storage, then turn phone off. but once turned back on, it automatically reverts to mass storage again. the conclusion: still having problems using lg mobile sync and it's still saying "cannot connect to mobile. check connection" i'm getting very frustrated. does anyone have any suggestions that actually will work? and i've tried changing compatibility in the pc but still does not work. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP

In the phone you have 2 options to use USB connection (Shine). One of them is "Modem" - use it in order to work with LG Mobyle Sinc.

Unable to connect lg kf700 with the software pc suite i down loaded ( lost origonal cd) the mesage i get is unable to reconise phone. os is xp. unable to find link for suitable pc suite....( if there is a difference in version...i dont know ) link would be usfull

Solution 3 works perfect. I would just add that after entering the sync software, click on contact /agenda to get an active CONNECT icon. Solution 3 was:
"To Synchronise the Phone with the PC you must go to "connectivity" and set the USB Connection on the phone to Data Service and use the LG Sync. software."

This is just crappy software, it's not a Windows related problem. I am a Mac user and running LG Mobile Sync under Virtual PC. Like everyone else in here I can connect the phone acting as an USB storage device (like I can on my Mac outside of Virtual PC) but I can't get it to "talk" to LG Mobile Sync.

In Virtual PC, I have to tell the program which USB devices to pass through to the Virtual PC Windows installation and which devices to "leave" on the Mac.

When connecting the phone to my Mac, the Virtual PC USB settings pop-up, notifying me of the new device. The device is visible as "LG: 1 CDC and 1 MS and 1 DPS". When I tell it to pass it on to Windows inside Virtual PC, it's just not picked up by the Sync software.

To Synchronise the Phone with the PC you must go to "connectivity" and set the USB Connection on the phone to Data Service and use the LG Sync. software. To transfer files such as photos videos or music, set to -Mass storage- and use windows explorer to Drag & drop. it's easy.

Leave the phone settings on Mass Storage, but when it connects, there will be an option on the phone to 'Exit'. This disconnects the USB drive, but enables the data connection for synching. Then you can use your LG software to synch.
