SOURCE: repalcement handles for Rival slow cooker crock pot model scu600

My black handle broke off, too. I went to the hobby store and got a wood ball not too big and drilled a hole in it the same diameter as the screw that held in the original handle. Voila, I now have a wood ball knob handle on my crock pot lid. You just install it and cscrew it on just like you do a new knob on a kitchen cabinet.

I have a betty g slow cooker model scf80. do i put water in the metal part before putting my crock in?

I just read the manual for the betty "g" scf80 and all it says is "The stoneware liner when inserted in your Betty "g" slow crock cooker fryer is surrounded by air. This air is heated to the desired cooking temperature when the control knob is set to one of the two settings indicated for slow crock cooking. This Method of heating produces a slow and even rise in temperature that prevents scorching, less chance of overcooking, minimum loss of nutrients, less shrinkage and boiling away of juices.". My wife says no you should not as well, as she does not on our new model crockpot.

Do I add water between ceramic bowl & metal.

Never!!! You should have an Owner's Manual for this product, be sure to read it carefully. At any rate, you should "never' add anything to the metal part of your slow cooker it is designed only for ingrediants to be put in the ceramic bowl.

No Instruction manual

Hi,
Here's the link for your slow cooker. Its a PDF document which needs Adobe PDF reader or Foxit PDF reader to open it. These are both available on the internet for free.
Link to slow cooker manual:
