You don't need to program this remote if you're using it with the TV it was supplied with. If you're trying to program it to work other devices - TV / DVD / VCR - then you're out of luck. The CT-847 isn't a programmable remote!
You need to buy a universal remote to control multiple devices. They are usually supplied with codes.

Hi, What is the brand of your VCR? If you using Panasonic VCR on this TV, the code are : 14 or 51 and or 59. Try one by one the code above until the vcr work on your TV. How to do? 1. Press the code button 2. Press the 2 digits code warm regards, Jay
you can set up any like this 1. turn on what ever you want set up 2. press and hold set up tell light blinks or stays lit 3. push what you are trying to set up t.v. or dvd ect. 4. push power on/off tell it turns off 5. push enter when it turns off Thank you for useing fixya please rate me
I found on my toshiba tv remote that the code for the rca was 039
some of the buttons were mixed up but its better than nothing.
Also remote has to be set to Aux. 2
Not really too sure about Direct TV. But give me some time, I have asked some other Experts here for their help. Hopefully one or two of them may have an answer..
