if you got oil on the belt or the part of the pully where the belt rides then the belt is sliping and wont turn the drum.
you will need to get the oil off of the belt or buy a new one and you will need to get the oil off the motor pully and the idler pully and if any oil is on the drum.
This is where I would start given the information you have given.
You'll need to remove the top lid then the front panel.. on the bottom right of the cabinet you'll find the pulley which sounds like the problem the motor is right there behind the pulley...Good Luck
The thing that you should now when taking on a repair on a "skyscraper" like thses, is that they are a monster to repair!! There is no "adjustment". The manufacturer (Whirlpool from the looks of your Model #) has a "fixed" tension on these units so they cannot be tampered with. You would need to purchase a repair manual that matches the unit you have to take you step-by-step. Plus, you can't just go by the size. The belt has to be ABSOLUTELY EXACT as the original. Did you get the belt from Sears or a third-party?
The most obvious thing to check is the dryer belt. Unplug the dryer, and remove the back panel. Locate the motor and trace the delt from the motor pully to the drum and all the way around, back to the motor. If the belt is on and tight, the issue is probably with the motor.
Regards, W/D
it goes in front of the motor, you'll see the slots in the cabinet under the motor, both side of the belt go under the pully and onto the motor pully-mike
the sound is thr support rollers or the idler pully, the support rollers located under the drum to the back the pully holds the belt tight. look for meatle shavings or rust dust on rollers.
most common problem is a bad idler pulley and/or roller assy, you can order a repair kit for your dryer probly under $40, includes new rollers, belt and idler pully part number 4392065
