Unable to print from Internet Explorer

The printer works fine for everything else but will not print anything online, whether it's a web page, receipts, plane tickets or forms within IE altough the printer symbol comes up within the bottom right toolbar it always says '0 documents pending' and nothing happens. All suggestions are welcome as it gets a bit frustrating.

Yes I am having the same problem using Window's Vista, and I can print from any other programs, but won't print anything off of the internet. I have a HP Officejet 6310 All-in-one printer.

Will not print from the internet. All other functions are working properly. Thank you.

If you are using a MAC try this page -> http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?docname=c00242727&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN If you are using anything else the following may (or may not) be of some use: Nothing prints: Verify the correct print driver is being selected. Print by selecting File then Print. The current selected printer should be listed in the Print dialog box. Select the correct printer if the wrong one is selected. * Check the print driver Properties to verify it has not been set to offline. * Try printing from another program to verify the printer is functioning correctly. If other programs can be printed from, there is a problem with the Web browser. Try the remaining steps, and then contact the browser vendor if necessary. * Restart the computer and try printing again. System resources may have become low or a task required to print may have died. Restarting the computer should correct these issues. * Install a universal Microsoft ®) printer driver that is compatible with the HP all-in-one, and then select the universal Microsoft printer driver to print from the Internet. To install a universal Microsoft printer driver, follow the steps (these may vary slightly based on the version of Windows in use) below: NOTE: The Windows diskettes or CD-ROM may be required to install a universal Microsoft printer driver. 1. From the Windows Desktop, select Start , Settings , and Printers . 2. Double-click Add Printer . 3. Select Next on the first Add Printer Wizard window if one appears in this version of Windows. 4. If the option for Local or Network printer appears, select Local and then select Next . 5. Under the Manufacturers list, select HP . Under the Printers list, select the HP Deskjet 855c for newer models, or the Deskjet 550c printer driver for older models. Select Next . 6. Select the LPT1: Printer Port for parallel installations, or the DOT4_00x port for USB installations, and then click Next . 7. Select No so the universal printer driver will not be the default printer, and then click Next . 8. When prompted to print a test page, click No , and then click Finish . Insert the Windows disk if prompted. 9. Before using the universal driver, it may be necessary to shut down the HP all-in-one software. Do this by right-clicking the HP all-in-one printer icon next to the time in the lower right corner of the screen, and then click the Close (or similar) option. 10. Print from the Web browser by selecting File , and then Print. 11. Select the Universal print driver in the Print dialog box before printing. Let us know how you get on

Hp6310 officejet all in one

Hi,
here is solution..
Solution Step one: Make sure that the product prints correctly
  1. Print a self-test page from the product control panel, from Windows, or from the product software. (See the product user guide, available online, for instructions to print a self-test page.)
  2. Check to make sure that black and all colors (if using a color product) print on the self-test page.
    • If the self-test page does not print correctly, an issue might exist with the product hardware. See the product user guide, available online, for further troubleshooting steps.
    • If the self-test page prints correctly, continue with the next step.
Step two: Determine what portion of the page is set to print Many Web pages use frames. Frames divide the screen into multiple windows. Follow these steps to determine what portion of the page is set to print.
  1. Click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop. The Internet Explorer window opens.
  2. On the File menu, click Print . The Print dialog box opens.
  3. Click the Options tab to view the print settings.
  4. Change the settings if required, and then click Print .
Step three: Change the Encoding setting in the Web browser
  1. Click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop. The Internet Explorer window opens.
  2. On the Menu bar, click View .
  3. Click Encoding to view a list of encoding options.
  4. Check the Encoding settings.
    • If Auto Select has a check mark next to it, click to clear the check box.
    • If Western European Windows does not have a check mark next to it, select it.
Try printing again. If the issue continues, proceed to the next step. Step four: Check the page setup settings for the Web browser Web pages are designed to be viewed at a certain screen resolution. If the resolution of the screen is lower than the resolution of the Web page, the whole screen might not display or might not be printed.
  1. Make sure that Internet Explorer is open.
  2. On the File menu, click Page Setup . The Page Setup dialog box opens.
  3. Review the Margins information.
  4. Make sure that the margin settings are greater than or equal to the minimum printable region margins for the product. The margins vary slightly among HP All-in-One products. As a general rule, the settings should be at least the values shown in the following table. Side Margin Top Margin Bottom Margin 6.3 mm (0.25 inch) 6.3 mm (0.25 inch) 6.3 mm (0.25 inch)
  5. Make necessary changes to the margin settings.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.
Try printing again. If the issue continues, proceed to the next step. Step five: Print using Smart Web printing software HP Smart Web Printing is fast, free, downloadable software that enhances how Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox print Web pages. Use HP Smart Web Printing for the following tasks:
  • Select text and graphics from any Web site
  • Save paper by combining portions of numerous Web pages
  • Preview and modify clips before printing
Thank you.......

HP C4580 won't go online

Thank you Nadine,

yes - the plot is thickening now!

To your problem:
The printer itself will never go online. If you want to print something from the internet (a web page i.e.), your computer is establishing that connection via a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.), like the page you see right now.
If you want to print something, you have to choose the "Print" command form the "File" menu in your application or hit the "Ctrl" key and "P" at the same time.

In the upcoming dialog you can choose your printer and the printing preferences. Try it right now and print this page. (Make sure you select "1 to 1" in the "Print Range" options, otherwise you might end up with a lot of scratch paper...)

Did it work?

If so - any other questions?
If not, post a comment and tell me what happened.

HP 7260 works fine with e-mails and documents. Does not print internet pages.

This sounds like an issue with your web browser. Which web browser are you using? Do you get any error message when you print? Also, when you print, make sure it is printing to the printer you think you have set up. The web browser will allow you to print to a different printer, then remember those settings.

Hp psc1410 printer

If you are trying to print from a web page keep in mind that not everything that is on the web is able to be printed. I would look for a link which is usually found near the top of bottom of a web page that usually says something about printing the page. An example would be if you use google maps to get directions. In the corner of the directions it says Print. If you click that link it would open the actual link you can print from.
