My Canon M170 had recently been causing a problem. It has been installed in my computer for a year now, with no problems until now.
The other day when I tried to print a document, it came up with the windows information bubble stating that the USB device was not recognised. We have tried 'Compaq', the computer manufacturers advice by uninstalling the printer through it's method. We have also bought a new USB cable and fitted it incase it was the cable that was causing the problem.
Nothing seems to be working. I hope someone can help as we really are not in a position to buy a new printer.
Uninstall the printer from your computer, and use new usb cable, install the cable in other usb port and then turn on the computer. Go to the "Add new printer" option from the control panel-printer. and install the driver properly.
