Dacor Cooktop gas conversion

Anybody know how to switch out the nozzles to convert a Dacor SGM365 cook top from natural gas to LP? I was sent a conversion "kit" with no instructions, and I can't find an obvious way to access the orifice for each burner.

Thank you for the suggestion. I finally figured it out- and it was a fairly easy conversion. (The brass rings under the burner caps unscrew, but need a special tool or some ingenuity. The actual nozzel switch-out is straight forward)

Where did you purchase the kit? Can you name the store with number or list the website? Also the part number information. Thanks

Hi I am trying to convert my Dacor stove/oven from NG to Propane. We can't find the conversion kit anywhere. Any ideas?

Hi, to convert from NG to LP is easier in some ways but harder in others. The pressure part is easy because LP runs at the same pressure that comes into the house so the regulator is normally locked wide open to allow a direct by-pass. You could just as easily remove the regulator and plumb straight in from the houseline. You don't say what model but usually the sealed cooktop burners will need smaller orifices and the oven and broiler orifices are adjustable. If that is the case, the oven and broiler orifices can be tightened until they bottom out which be the correct output for LP. You would need to remove the cooktop orifices and find replacements which are correct for LP, these are non-brand specific. Honestly, if you go to repairclinic.com and enter the brand and model number, I'd be surprised if you couldn't find the conversion kit. Even the Dacor site should be helpful. I found many different kits available at the repairclinic.com site even without a model number. Best of luck.

I have a Dacor 48" ERD dual fuel range set for LP and need to convert it to NG. Dacor says "NO can do" I know it is not rocket science. Parts people such as appliancepartspros.com first say I need about 5...

If Dacor does not supply a conversion kit you may have big trouble changing it to natural. In addition to the burner valves you must change the orifices, the regulator, and venturi tubes. This would be quite a challenge. Good luck!

Converting LP to NG

The install manual on the dacor web site insists that Natural Gas requires the nozzles be removed, that low pressure NG works with the large 'default size nozzles'. Have done the conversion, in Australia, for my own barbecue, worked ok
Gas is too dangerous to make mistakes with. All I can suggest if Dacor is difficult is take the pdf of the installation instructions, link in the first replies, and the barbecue to a local gasfitter/plumber and ask them to work on it. they will be able to do the calculations from the existing nozzle size, lpg pressure, ng pressure, and required BTU output, to put in correctr nozzles

Dacor Australia are much easier to deal with.

Converting Dacor ERD30S06CH/LP/H to Natural Gas

I know they won't convert gas water heaters but I didn't know they were afraid of stoves. See if your gas company will help. Sometimes they can drill out the orfices. Some of the older repair people still remember how to do this. The orfice for natural gas is larger as the pressure is a lot less. The gas pressure regulator will also need to be replaced. This can be done with a generic part.

Dacor pgm 365 lp to naural gas

Yes by a licensed person so as not to break any local laws or Kill You,
LPg typically delivers at a higher psi than natural gas, and the propane content requires more combustion air than the methane butane mix of natural gas,
methane CH4 needs 2 oxygen (O2) to make CO2 +2 H20
Propane C4H10 needs 7.5 (02) 4 CO2 5 H2O
the nozzle injecting the LPg has small diameter, The Gas certified plumber can remove the nozzle(s) and replace them with larger diameter Natural gas ones for a small price, most manufacturers make both, its a simple job
Cant stress - Gas Certified plumber/tradesman - strongly enough, one explosion will ruin your whole day

Propane to Natural Gas Conversion

on the regulator there is a 1/2" nut, made of aluminum. loosen the nut, thur it around and screw it back in, there is a "NAT" on one side, and a "LP" on the other side, make sure the "LP" is facing out if you are using propane, and "NAT", if you are using Natural Gas. Very simple, all you need is a 1/2" wrench, or a small adjustable wrench,
