I have a Compaq Presario V2000 that is less than two years old. I had some problems with the computer shuting down as I was using it, but it wasn't happening a lot. A couple of weeks ago I tried to turn the computer on and nothing. No power, no screen. Any suggestions? Help! I am not a computer person, but I have become used to having my laptop available at all times. Thanks!
HP do not accept this as a "known" issue with V2000 series, but are replacing motherboards out of warranty when the US Better Business Bureau gets involved.

Or your power adapter plug may be bad thats what happened to mine now I'm trying to find someone who knowsabout the replacing soldiering etc.
Disconnect battery and unplug from power, test for voltage on power cord and re-insert, hold down power switch. If nothing try battery without power cord. Still nothing (no lights, no sounds) then it may need system board replacing.
