Can't get to the home screen

Our company recently purchased a Polycom VSX 7000 for our new site. I'm in the process of setting it up. When it boots up, the TV shows what is being captured in the camera, in full screen. I wish to see the home screen or the main menu. In the remote control, I tried pressing the home button (with the house icon) but nothing happens. All I can control are the camera movements, zoom, mute, etc. Please advise. Thanks!

We have Polycom VSX 7000 at our office. After we start the unit the TV shows what is being captured in the camera, in full screen. I am not able to view the main menu. All I can control are the camera movements, zoom, mute, etc. I tried pressing the # button while starting it. Still could not resolve the issue. Please advise.

I've just solved that problem in the VSX 7000 of my girlfriend's Job.

Your VSX7000 has at least 4 video outputs, 1 for VGA and Supervideo 1 and Supervideo 2.

Firstly you should try VGA connector, because the main menu may be there, so you could change the configuracion.

If you can't see main screen in any of the output connectors you'll have to use the http tool.

In your internet browser enter the camera IP address, and you'll get the Web Interface of the VSX7000.

It will prompt you for user & password, the default options are "Admin" and your VSX7000 serial number (14 digits) you can find this number under the camera.

Once you're in the Web Main Menu, click on Site Map. There you can choose what you want to see in the screen of Monitor1 (My menus are in Spanish, maybe your menu says something like "screens" but I'm sure you'll find it)

If you choose Monitor/Screen 1 as Svideo, and select it as output for Local, Remote and Content you should see the Main Menu after the VSX7000 Reboots.

I hope it would be useful for you, if you have any problem with this let me know... This VSX7000 is working fine now, so yours should work!

You should place the S-Video cable to the # 1 monitor port.

Polycom identified a FORCE SVideo feed option for the 7000 series.

You must hold the pound key down on the remote when turning on the unit to force an s-video feed out…

Just an FYI as there is ONE VSX7000 Polycom unit we have that only has SVideo output and when it shipped back from the factory they had been using a remote configuration utility and did not set the display up.

It will probably NEVER happen again but just an FYI.

Your VSX 6000 does not support Multipoint. YOu will have to move up to the VSX 7000 or 8000. The VSX 7000 supports MP and the VSX 8000 supports 6 site mp if you have that option installed. DAVID

Can not able to dial out any number from Polycom VSX 7000.

Check out the following things:-

1. When dialing a ISDN number, be sure that the call preference has not been set to IP H.323 on the home screen just below the dialing field.

2. Check with your service provider that outwards dialling have been enabled on the lines provided to you.
