Epoxy would not work. If it is a very small chip and is NOT STRUCTURAL or in the heated are you could TRY the adhesive used for rear view mirror to glass attachment.

you can replace the top but from what i have seen it cost big buck's , maybe you should look around at used stores that sell ovens and such mite find one in better sshape then yours , I forget how much the top cost but i remember it being expensive

My glass Whirlpool cooktop cracked. Do I need to buy a whole new cooktop?

No just the glass could be ordered seperatly, the cost of the glass could be as much as $300 for just the glass and unless you plan to replace it yourself it could cost $175 labor for the repair tech to transfer all the parts from old to new glass. So what would be more financially better,to spend up to $500 to repair of 7-900 to replace

My glass cooktop has cracked across the top left corner. It has created a triangle, about 1-1/4 inch on each side. Is this a flaw in the glass?

most of the time for this to happen something would have had to been dropped or excessive weight on the unit ... it is possible over time the unit had a unseen hairline crack and the heat has caused it to become worse... the glass for these units are ridiculous in cost but can be repaired...

I didn't have that problem, but I had a burned out switch and cracked cooktop, and found replacement parts at www.appliancepartspros.com. not advertising for them. but I bought they have the parts, it's reasonable cost, and they had it to me in 2 days.

you can replace the cooktop but this might cost you about the same if you just went and bought a new one
