Can a sony vaio PCG-7133L turn on without a battery? I have one but no battery and when I plug it in and press the power button, the power light turns green and stays on, but when I have the power button pressed the battery light blinks orange (or stays orange if I hold down the button) any ideas?

Perform these steps and the issue will be resolved if the issue is with the Static charges on the Mother board.

I recommend you use Power Drain procedure by following these steps:

1. Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2. Remove the Battery.
3. Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4. Reconnect the AC adapter and do NOT connect the battery now.
5. Turn on the Notebook power.

These are know to have issues with the cpacitors on the mother board, you can try to replace the caps or just buy a new motherboard. I'm fixing one right now as I type...

Unplug from A/C adapter & remove battery and let sit fo a while..
Put battery back and plug in the A/C adapter, then turn back on.
