Not printing in black

My printer won't print in black for the test pageor for documents. I have tried changing the cartridge and cleaning the head but still nothing?

My epson stylus cx 5000 printer will not print in black and white photos. I go to print preview and change the output box to color management. I set the printer to Black only and nothing comes out, just a blank paper. I have done trial and error with changing to gray scale to color, to black only and nothing. When it prints in grayscale I get a bluish tint. Please help!

Turn off the Stylus CX. Load letter-size paper in the sheet feeder. Press the ink and ON buttons together and hold them down for about 3 seconds.
The Stylus CX turns on and prints a test pattern, which includes a nozzle check. If the print comes as = >
Nozzle check pattern with no gaps, and if its print in black then reinstall the printer driver
or => Nozzle check pattern with gaps and black doesn't print please send the printer for repair

The printer will not print in black ink

Hi

Try going into Printing Preferences in the Kodak Printer Program and perform Maintenance.

You do not say which operating system you are using.

Start > (Control Panel) > (Category View) Printer > right click on the Kodak icon > Printing Preferences > Maintenance > Nozzle Check > Head Cleaning > test print > repeat nozzle check, head cleaning & test printing until problem is gone.

If this does not fix the problem, replace the black cartridge > head cleaning > test print.

You might need to perform head cleaning after every cartridge change.

I hope this helps.

1. try to cleaning head
2. remove the black cartridge only, (if it doesn,t changed after you cleaned head)
3. provide some warm/hot water on a bowl or plate.
4. enter the HEAD of black cartridge in to hot water. soak with depth about 2mm up to 5mm. while you see the ink is come out....
5. after the black ink has come out. pat dry with a paper towels/tissue.
6. replace the cartridge in to printer.
7. cleaning head again and print test page

No Printed documents

Have you performed a print head cleaning? If not, follow the instructions below:

1) Press <Menu> on the panel repeatedly until [Maintenance] appears on the display

2) Press left or right arrow buttons until the cleaning setting you want appears, either [Head Cleaning] or [Head Refreshing]

3) Press the <OK> button.

Note: Head cleaning should be attempted first, and may need to be done more than once. Examine the results of the test page.

Head refreshing is more aggressive, uses more ink and should only be performed when necessary (ie. when multiple head cleanings failed to solve your print problem).

Black ink problem with printout on hp7780

Always try replacing the ink cartridges first.

It sounds like the print heads in the 7780 are bad. Don't confuse the ink cartridges with print heads. The cartridges fit inside the print heads. You will need to change the heads. Here is a link to HP's how-to.

Could have the same problem with the Dell.

Printing problem

Since it sounds like you've gone through all the steps to clean the print head, I would suggest trying a new black cartridge. There may be a problem with the one you have.
