I did a master reset under settings. It has helped so far on my handset.

Downloaded user guide for my phone from Motorola's support site. Not something one can figure on their own. Took some stars and hexes and a secret code. Not loving this phone so far. Way too complicated.

Whats the size of those file? As far as I know motorola L6i has only 10MB internal memory. probably you dont have enough free space.

free up some space and try again.

I would first download the USB drivers from Motorola and try again.

Motorola did not list your driver separately, but if you have Motorola Phone Tools (you can get it for dirt cheap on eBay).
I am sure the driver is included there as well, as your model is listed by them.
