Lamp replacement All scans have yellow bar/stripe down right side of paper image. Does it need a new lamp? Where do I buy one? How do I change it? Or do I take it to a repair shop - I'm in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

You probably got a piece of paper or something in the image path or the paper path. If it is a nice clean line it is more likely to be in the image path, if it is smudgy line it something may be scraping the toner off the paper before it gets to the fuser. Check the paper path.

your scanner is going bad if your getting bars showing up on the scanned image. You can try reinstalling the drivers for your scanner which would be on the cd that came with your scanner.

Try that just to be sure its not software related and if the same problem exists then you know the scanner itself is bad, hardware problem basically and it would be better to get a new scanner then to get your existing one repaired unless your scanner is under warranty then get a hold of the manufacturer and setup a repair.

the light filter on the blue lcd is fried and needs to be replaced. it makes sure only blue light comes therough that lcd panel. when it's light is blocked from coming through, only the red and green lights can be seen, hence the yellowness (red light+green light=yellow light). it's common with lcd projectors. unfortunately, you can't buy that piece seperately. you need to buy the entire optical engine, which isn't cheap (almost $2000).

LCD projector 101, your blue device is dying inside of projector. Consider purchasing a dlp based product, they do not suffer from color decay.

Really you are blessed , most lcds last about 3-4000 hours or 4 lamp changes. good luck

Open the cover and put a piece of paper on only half the glass, and make a copy. BLOCK the left side of the glass with the blank paper.
See where it is blank. Most of the times that is a dirty or haved up mirror in the scan head. One of the small mirrors in the black assembly under the lamp. When a digital copier scanner optics become dirty, the image in that area becomes very light .

Your lamp is going out. You can buy a replacement lamp for about $300. Just do a search for the specific model + lamp & buy one. It is very easy to replace. Make sure you reset the lamp timer on the menu after replacement.

try cleaning the grid on the drum unit and you might replace the drum

From the printer, print the Troubleshooting Print Quality Pages.
With Troubleshooting highlighted, press the OK button.
Scroll to Print Quality Problems by pressing the Up or Down Arrow button. Press OK.

Scroll to Troubleshooting Print Quality Page. Press OK.
Evaluate the Light Stripes Test page for missing printhead jets (missing cyan, magenta, yellow or black color bars).

Clean the maintenance unit's wiper blade and empty the waste tray. A dirty maintenance drawer wiper blade can cause white lines and weak or missing printhead jets. Using a clean lint-free cloth or a paper coffee filter, gently clean the blade with a wiping motion across the entire length of the wiper blade.

To get the image on the right side, Select 11" wide and the length you want. Keep the paper guides at the far ends. Insert the paper at the extreme right side and the image will appear on the right side. The left side would appear dark and You may need software to clean. If you dont have Raster Editing software, best way is to stick your image onto a white paper and scan the whole paper. Ensure that the ends are trim. ( I am assuming it is faceup scanning)

Even a single grain of dust or a single strand of hair on the scanning glass will cause the scan head to perceive ink/image where there is none. Deffinetly try cleaning the glass using a good window cleaner, and a cloth that is completely clean, or even a peice of newspaper. If the black line remains, I would suggest taking it into a service center to have the scan head itself cleaned.
