Question about Karcher Garden
Having a 13A fuse I am concluding that the machine is single phase. Most probably you have a faulty capacitor. Check the capacitor and if you find it expanded and leaking...then you must change it with a new one. If you see the capacitor is normal just the same it could be shorted. So change the capacitor with a new one and try to start the machine WITHOUT LOAD. Which means no water inlet and no gun attached. Doing this you can also remove temporarly the micro switches. If the motor still hums, then most probably there is a fault in the electric motor.
Now if you find out that the fault is the capacitor (which in my opinion it is the case)...you must see why the capacitor broke. If when using the machine and the gun is closed, the machine starts on and off on its own,...this will damage the capacitor. This on and off fault could come from a leaking gun. Or a leak from the seals. Whatever....the machine must not be left going ON and Off when the gun is closed. This ON and OFF could be due to faulty micro switches and control valves.
I am very sorry to mention a lot of things, but I hope as in many cases,..the changing of the capacitor will solve the problem. I wish to add that the electrical lead wire must be checked. On many occasions I found that the electrical lead wire from the plug to the machine was damaged and shorted, ..due to pulling, wear and tear.

These machines are a 15amp machine, they will draw around 14amps, main cause for a capacitor to blow is voltage drop caused by extension leads. also the hds745 is a watercooled electric motor, if you run it without water for to long you will cook it. Also on the pump there are 2 microswitchs which control your total stop, (dont mix them up) it will most likely be the bottom one (if its the newer 745s. Failing that test the power to your motor, if you have 240v to the motor your motor is burnt out, you can rewind these. If it is mechanical its normally due to the blow fan jamming, It wont be too thick oil. But you should find your local service agent and get them to check it as usually its somthing simple. fyi I repair these for a living.

Got to agree with the capacitor conclusion...........
especially if used with an extension cable of the wrong size and the machine left'cycling' on and off.
seen plenty caps blown, best bet is if you can borrow a capacitor tester to test it and compare it to the value on the capacitor in microfarads...

Change the oil, put 0W40 in. The oil is too thick which puts too much strain on the motor on startup. The motor pulls too much current and pops fuse. Also check you mains voltage, if your voltage isn't up at 230/240v the current draw will increase. If that's the case then you need a 16A socket and fuse, but try the oil first.

you have an electrical short in the motor windings. you'll have to either replace the motor or buy another washer. also check to see if the motor isn't locked up with a piece of trash. to do that you'll have to dissassemble housing until you get to the motor. it should turn easily by hand. if so you have a short.
