Sounds like it has been dropped or damaged. May have to replace it.

I cant steer , when i put the remote into the steering wheel for mario cart wii, the gas works but it does not steer, just goes straight

Well, I don't use the Wii wheel. I played with the gba and Game Cube controller. So I recommend to try using the nunchuk in your races. Play Wii play to test your wii remote's pointing and twisting ability's

Second remote will not recognize the wii mario kart. Second remote will work with all other wii games, except for Mario Kart.

Had the same problem last night.... Turn off the wii system by unplugging , wait a couple of seconds and plug back in. Next, the front of the wii has a pocket that opens, there is a red button. Put the disc to mario kart in the wii once you see the federal regs push and hold the red button on the wii for 15 seconds then once this 15 seconds is up with the controllers battery case open push the red button to the original controller. All of lights will flash and then stop. Push the red button on the wii console again just once. Then push the red button on the second remote wait till all lights stop flashing push the red button on the console and now they should be married to the wii system. Hope this helps----do you know how to get the volume? We don't have any volume

Mario Kart no start up

if you have upgraded your software on your wii, your freeloader won't work anymore. Mario carts is written in a way to stop people using programs such as freeloader. Its something called signed trucha, other people will not more. You could try buying a UK mario cart on ebay and trying that. Otherwise, looking into getting it mod chipped to overcome the region barriers. But always buy original games for it

Wii mario kart, second wheel won't turn

I tried resyncing from the main screen, but one of the wiimotes still didn't work. I read to smack the wiimote facedown in your hand a couple of times, and that worked!!!

Apparently the motion sensor can get stuck inside, although it doesn't totally make sense, because previously when the wiimote didn't steer, it still moved on the screen to choose character, car, etc.
