Hooking up dvd player

How do I hook up the player to the tv that is connected to a echostar sattelite box? What cords do I use? I used the red/yellow/white cords that came with the player, but all it will do is open & shut the dvd compartment. nothing appears on screen. Thankyou

I have Dish TV receiver on set I am trying to hook this DVD player up to. Cannot figure it out. Terrible directions, they go right to what one sees on a setup screen in step two, well DUH, how does one hook it up? Where do the red, white and yellow cables go into? I have multiple jacks in back of receiver and tv. The remote will open the slide door, put it in standby but a disk will not play, the tv program stays on tv screen and nothing happens related to setting up or using this player. HELP.

I'm still having a problem. I too have DirecTV and cannot get the DVD to play. I have tried every possible configuration, but all I get is the screen identifying the DVD player. This is the most frustrating mess I have ever tried to work with. And to top it off, GPX does not have anyone to contact for help.

Your cables are coded red(right audio), white(left audio) and yellow(video). The cable inputs on the dvd player and tv are likewise coded. Just connect color to like color. In setup, do not
change NTSC! If you should go to PAL you'll never get out of setup and all you'll have is screen roll, as though the vertical hold gave out.

Connecting dvd player to a television need a diagram t.u

Hi,

If you are going to hook up the DVD player to your TV through RCA cords, see the picture below.

jdvillanueva_120.jpg

Hook up the yellow RCA cord at the Video-in at the back of the TV and the other end at the Video out of the DVD player to get the video.

Hook up the red RCA cord at the Audio-in(right channel) at the back of the TV and the other end at the Audio-out of the DVD player.
Hook up the white/black RCA cord at the Audio-in(left channel) at the back of the TV and the other end at the Audio-out of the DVD player.

Red and white/black RCA cord is for the sound.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

I have direct satalite tv VR 6050 kenwood surround sound tuner vizio tv, dvd player, and a vcr, Im confused on how its hook up and what order should it go something like sat in to sat box to kewood...

that reciever is not going to carry a hi definition video signal, it doesnt have either hdmi or component video inputs.

you can still use it, but if you run the picture through the reciever, it will have poor quality.

heres how you are supposed to hook it up:

find the single,m yellow video jack on your sattelite box, and hook that up to the "tv" video input, then hook the laft and right audio outputs from the cable box into the "tv" audio left and right inputs on the receiver. hook up the dvd player and vcr in the same manner, using "dvd" and "VCR" (if labeled as such) inputs on the reciever.

finally, send the tv video and audio outputs to the composite video in and left/right audio inputs on the tv. the video will be running through the reciever, and when you use the reciever to switch the sound source, the video will also be changed. you could get better picture quality if you ran the video directly to the tv using component (seperate green, red and blue) outputs/inputs, and bypassing the reciever on the video end, but then you would have to change inputs on the tv AND reciever to change from your cable box to your dvd player.

How do I hook up the recorder

Hi....

Take the output of the Satellite box to the "In from antenna" or "in from cable" then out to TV from the VCR to the TV.
TV should either be on 3 or 4 depending on what the satellite box is set for

Problem hooking up DVD player to TV thru my cable box

Chances are you've got your DVD player hooked to OUPUT jacks on the cable box, not inputs. I haven't yet seen a box that takes any kind of an input other than the cable line, but they will have RCA jacks for audio and video outputs on the back. So your cable channels are fine, but the DVD signal is hitting a dead end.

The only solution if your TV doesn't have RCA inputs for video and audio is to get an RF converter (around $10-$20). This takes the A/V signals from your DVD and turns them into a channel 3 or 4 signal that connects to your TV's antenna input.

The converter also has a connector on the back for the cable coming from the cable box, since you'll have to disconnect that from the TV. When the DVD player is off, the cable box signal gets passed to the TV as normal. Turn on the DVD player and the RF converter switches on; put your set on channel 3 or 4 and you'll see your video.

One final thing: The converter will need an AC outlet for its power adapter or power cord, so make sure you have a spare. If you don't already have your TV and DVD player connected to one, this would be a good time to pick up a surge-protector outlet strip. Then not only will you have enough outlets, you'll be protecting your equipment as well.

If this solution has given you what you need, please take a moment to rate it appropriately. And thanks for asking here!

Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

Connect tv vcr and dvd player to digital converter box

Yes you can first connect the converter box to the antenna first. Next hook the tv out on converter box to vcr in on vcr. Next hook the vcr out to the tv in and watch vcr and converter box on channel 3 sometimes channel 4.on the actual tv and of course change channels with converter box remote. For dvd player hook it straight to tv with red, white, and yellow cables that come with your dvd player. Then to watch dvd player if it's hooked up that way you have to put your tv on a input like video 1 or input 1. This can be done by using the tv remote and looking for a button that says tv/video or input or source button. This is some common names for that button on tv remotes.
