I got the same problem. I searched everywhere and got the manual at Tomson. Since it is so painful to me, I would take the pain to write this and share to you. Now, for GE 2-6920R, it's easy:

Tone:
1. Make sure the phone is OFF
2. Press and hole the CHAN button for 2 seconds until the phone beeps
3. Press TONE* button. The phone will phone again to confirm the change.

OK. I did searched a bit more to get manuals for my other GE cordless. You can get it from GE's site here. Just search the product, go to the details, then go to manual and spec sheet. The link is here.http://thomson-asia.ru/Thomson_asia/GE/g...

To select the dialing mode TONE (preset) or PULSE. Make sure the handset and base unit are not being used. 1. Press [VOICE ENHANCER], then press [8]. -The VOICE ENHANCER indicator flashes. 2. To select PULSE, press [1]. OR To select TONE, press [2]. 3. Press [VOICE ENHANCER]. -The handset beeps and the indicator light goes out.

No idea what type of phone you have. Most have a switch labeled pulse/tone. If this is an old multi-line phone system then the memory battery is bad and you had a power outage setting the system back to default settings.

There is no "magic switch" on the back of this

The magic switch is in the SYSTEM. By default Panasonic systems are Tone dialing. You can change it or if you press # it turns off tone to pulse conversion.

Phone went from touch tone to pulse. . .

Hello,

Read the manual to reconfigure that option. (Look for Setup button on the phone) I can't guess what model you have. On older phones one could find a switch on the the phone to flip between Tone and Pulse.

Sorry I could not be of much help.

Hello, could you please help me with my panasonic kx-tc1200bx? How can I switch tone/pulse dialing tone? Thanks! Best Wishes.

The owner/user manual should have instructions on how to accomplish this. I take it that you no longer have the manual, so you'll have to root around in the phone's settings (you may have to access the tone/pulse setting from the base unit), to select the desired dialing mode. On some older phones (including cordless), the tone/pulse selection is a physical switch on the base unit (on the top/bottom/side/back). Look carefully... I hope I've helped you!

sp.gif sp.gif There are three ways that a SoundStation can be changed from tone to pulse, which depends on when the unit was manufactured.
1. Pressing the Keys 3&Vol + simultaneously, will toggle between Pulse and Tone while the unit is in On Hook Mode (off).
2. Pressing the Keys *&MUTE simultaneously, will toggle between Pulse and Tone while the unit is in On Hook Mode (off).
3. Operation done by DIP switches. Dipswitch Configuration On the bottom of the SoundStation, in the lower left hand corner of the large sticker may be a small silver sticker. Underneath that sticker are 4 DIP Switches. Switch number 4 is for tone and pulse,ON being tone, and OFF being pulse. Do not change the other three swithces as this could render the phone inoperable.
