Question about Sony Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Sony VAIO VGC-RB34G PC Desktop CPU fan has been running on high for some time with occasional spin downs but any load on processor and it speeds back up. Then it began to beep once while trying to boot up but it would get into a loop and would not come up. I inserted a boot disk and somehow it came up and worked fine for a few weeks. Now it won't boot or beep at all. When I turn it on all of the fans work, the main CD drive opens and closes but nothing on screen and no beeping. HD "feels" like it is spinning. Could it be the CPU has failed? It has been a great machine for several years. Thanks in advance!

SOURCE: What lights should be on when the computer boot

You may possibly have a bad video card and a bad circuit on your motherboard. I would have the motherboard replaced. Some motherboards come with video cards, so once it is replaced, you may alerady have a new one with the motherboad part. If you not versed in doing this, you may want to get a professional to do so.

SOURCE: Desktop will not boot into bios No Usb power;monitor ''No Signal''

Your problem is the memory . YOu have to put off the pc and remove the memory card in the slot. Then clean the silver pins in your memory with a rubber eraser. Put it back and see if the BIOS will be prompted on the screen , if not you have to replace the memory.

PC won't start up

It may be worth trying to re apply the thermal paste to the processor, make sure you remove power from the machine before you open it up. The CPU may have failed, but they don't fail very often, so try the paste first, it will only cost a few GBP for a couple of applications.

Can't open DVD writer and Dvd Rom drive Sony Vaio VGC-RB 34G

There should be a very small hole on the front of the dvd plate. Push a small paper clip straight in. This should release the drive.
